Quick and Useful
I use this to backup my computer to old SSDs -- The two things that I was hoping for both came true: 1) Easy to setup. Just plug the SSD card into the docking station and plug the usb into the computer and the computer recognizes it as an external USB drive automatically 2) The speed is very fast. I have had no issues at all with lack of speed. Faster than any other memory card that I own.

Wonderful, especially for my job!
I use it quite a bit. It's great when upgrading workstations for employees, I just take their old SSD/HDD and plug them up to the computer via USB then I plug this thing up with a blank M2 and Acronis does the rest. This piece of tech was a lifesaver.

Just a tiny 1mm away from being perfect
Very well built and functions well. I suspect your could run this over with a car tire and not damage the case or adapter inside. But the very thick top cover, and the socket sitting slightly below it, creates a problem if your drive has a heatsink attached. Most of my M2 device heatsinks provide maximum size and cooling by occupying the full length of the card, except for the stepped area intended to be placed in the socket. And they have fit in all my motherboards and devices until this one. In order to fully seat in the socket of this device, recessed under the cover, the heatsink needed to be moved 1 mm above the normal socket depth to fit. And this is unnecessary since the socket is recessed nearly 3mm below the surface of cover. There is plenty of room to have the protective recess still exist while raising it enough to match the standard socket step in the PCB.I had thought it might be an assembly issue but there are fixed molded in mounting points that dictate the depth so it is a design issue. I may attempt a fix by filing down the mounting flats, but then that will also require enlarging the USB port opening since it is perfectly centered for the existing mount height. The attached photo shows the relocated heatsink once it was moved to make it fit this device. The prior location was even with the step on the PCB. Had this needed to be moved a bit further, it would have started obstructing the mounting screw.A useful added feature would be a power switch to facilitate drive swaps. I would like to semi-permanently mount this to my desktop, but the need to unplug the cable before disconnecting the drive and inserting a different one make this impractical. My similarly purpose hard drive dock has this feature and it is very useful when doing periodic air gapped backups of all the drives in my PC.

Lost files recovered!
I work in a physicians office, and one of our providers apparently likes to throw his laptop bag into the bed of his truck. He forgot to take it out and went through the carwash, laptop wouldn't start there after. He had templates and forms he uses for the office saved on there that wouldn't have been end of the world if we couldn't get but would be helpful if we could. This little purchase worked perfect for slotting his m.2 drive in and recovering those files. I didn't have a reader on hand and didn't expect his laptop to have that kind of drive. So this little reader was a life saver!
