Excellent to use in treatment!!
This workbook I have used for multiple clients in my private practice. I usually ask them to obtain a copy to have for their reference. It is well-written and easy for clients to understand. The process of working up to the exposure treatments is extremely beneficial; by the time the exposure treatment occurs, they are usually ready, and the coping memoir, coping statements, and cognitive diffusion chapters are excellent. Highly recommend it for personal or professional use..

Not what I needed for GAD
This felt targeted to people with specific fears like bees, horses, loud sounds etc not someone with GAD. Didn’t help me much but I did what was applicable to me.

Best investment ever!!
After moving to another country for the first time, I had a panic attack. Since then I feared having them and feared the sensations that came with them (hot flashes, nausea, vomiting, shaking...etc). I wanted to find a way to work through my anxiety because I knew cognitive-behavioral therapy is the fastest and most effective way to treat anxiety (proven by many studies and beats out medication!). I searched for the perfect fit and came across this book. The results were immediate! I couldn’t believe how quickly it worked. I was able to experience the uncomfortable sensations and get through a plane ride without having to distract myself or be sick the entire flight. Then I traveled with a friend for the first time without my husband to a new country. Everything that could have gone wrong did. I ended up getting sick on a bus and having to walk 45 minutes in the middle of the night to an Airbnb that I could not get into!! Needless to say I was beyond anxious! My worst case scenario happened.Since then (it was about a month ago), my confidence was shaken. I had a panic attack last night (mine last 5+ hrs) I decided to start this book over from page 1.I realized how much I had forgotten. Just the basics.... that my body is reacting the way evolution taught it to. My body sensed fear (perceived) and reacted the exact way it is supposed to! How could I forget such an important detail?! My body isn’t broken or “sick” like I thought... she was a dang TROOPER!! Fighting and protecting me from danger (even if it wasn’t real). After realizing this, I immediately felt relief and praised my body for being incredible for protecting me.So, if you can’t tell.... I recommend this book. And I recommend you read it over and over to remind yourself of how strong and incredible you are.

Not new condition
I ordered two workbooks a couple of weeks ago and decided that I need two more. The first two arrived in great condition but the second two were not so much. One looked as it if had been caught in machinery or dragged under a wheel of a cart. I will use the damaged book as my own as I cannot share a book in this condition with one of my patients.

It’s a bit much
Too much for someone who has anxiety.

Great for intermediate users
This is a great book to help work through avoidance and exposure for anxiety/ptsd. I would say this is more for an intermediate user who has insight into their problems, in particular if using it alone without a therapists guidance. If using alone, you may benefit from additional resources on identifying tricky/less overt safety behaviours and “fears”. Great resource overall, though! Definitely recommend for folks who have some insight into their challenges and barriers.

GREAT
Very effective self-help book using CBT technique to combat anxiety. Exercises are very useful and I found this rewarding to work through. I am pleased with my purchase and would buy again.
