I was afraid this thing wouldn't be strong enough to deal with the firewood we purchased, as the splits were rather large. It can't handle relatively large splits (8" or larger) thru the middle, but can reduce the size by allowing smaller kindling shaved off the sides until its small enough to split thru the middle. The point is wielding an axe/maul or using a manual splitter is a bit more than I can handle. This device allows me to split my own wood for my fireplace for which my husband is also grateful. Its small enough to be next to the wood pile without being in the way, and its pretty quiet considering what its doing.

I like the ease of use of this log splitter. The wheels enable me to easily move it out to work and this to return to storage. I struggle starting wood fires, and the splitter gives me smaller pieces of wood to start my wood stove. Much needed in cold weather!

Customer service nobody to talk to. Parts warranty good luck with that. Look at the problem people had with the item.Harbor Freight 2yr warranty no matter What. Don’t even need to save your receipt. Look up by phone. Any Harbor Freight Store costumer service always their to help . My electric 5 ton 12 amp man it packs a punch. Anything and everything non commercial I’ve split never got jammed or stuck. No regrets.This company try calling them to get answers when things go wrong.I’m forced to give them 1 star ! The worst experience I’ve ever had returning this piece of junk ever.Harbor Freight non commercial- residential use 2 years warranty no matter what. Extended warranty I highly recommen.

Package was torn open ,wheel and hardware missing, no instructions. Tried calling, put me on 30min call ended. Splitter does run and splits 8in. I'm 80 and my old 30 tunner ram leaks. I will use chainsaw to cut pieces in half or quarter. Wife can use with out me worrying. Just got today, hope it works for couple years update email response asking any damage parts returned they will replace, sounds like the company cares.

To bad it's not a little taller, but works exactly how you would expect.Plenty of of power for seasoned wood, not good for green wood, say this in advertisment!

Great log splitter for the price, 6-8 inches in diameter max. recommended. Not a problem splitting green logs.
