Husband enjoyed it
Got this for my husband for his birthday. He really enjoyed it, and said it had great detail.

I'd recommend another maker for the F-15E
The detail outside is on par with other models in 1:72 scale but it's got some big flaws due to laziness on behalf of academy in the way it's designed and that's why I give 2/5. Landing gear is one piece which lacks some detail & not very sturdy. The decals suck. The cockpit is devoid of any detail at all, decals are used here instead & they are 100% trash, don't even fit. The instructions are all clear until you get to the weapons pylons and properly setting them up was difficult as the instructions/diagrams were just not very helpful. Same for air intakes on the side, they were unnecessarily hard to put together. A lot of pieces are just left over from f-15c still included for some reason. There was some fitting difficulty in getting the parts of the fuselage to stay in contact without slightly bending the wings back, so not sure if it's just one I got or if they are just all poorly molded. This model seems as if they were too lazy to just make an entirely new model for the Strike Eagle model, as the externally molded fuel tanks that are on the sides of the F-15E, are supposed to be haphazardly glued onto the sides where the wings meet and there are major fitting flaws in the way this is done. I've never done this model with a different maker, so hard to compare. These are some things I noted but maybe somebody might not care considering it's only $20.

Christmas for my dad
This gift is perfect for my dad, the man who normally gets socks and a beer hugger for Christmas because he never knows what he wants. It's perfect for him to do on days when he's been snowed in from work. Great idea!
