Change your mind. Change your bottom like
This is an essential book for anyone who wants to confront their flawed self. Not everyone can. I believe everyone should try trading at least once.Trading is like being a comic on stage. But instead of making jokes about yourself for pity laughs, with this book you can understand your psychology, work on your weaknesses, and make money. There are strong synergies in trading psychology with self development and spiritual traditions. Underpinning all these is the primary function and habit of the mind which is holding you back: the habit of avoiding loss and pain. Once confronted, the theory is, you can achieve a fuller version of yourself.I would complement this book with a course and potential live shadowing of a real trader to understand how to read a chart, market conditions, when to enter, and risk management.Good luck

Good
I am just going to put it out there that there is nothing you don't know written in this book. Seriously. You know you need to keep winners running, you know you need to cut your losses, you know you need to focus and train your mind to execute flawlessly, you know your strategy is profitable, but you can't make it profitable. The thing is there is a difference between knowing something and doing something. And sometimes, just someone telling you that what you think is the right way (even though you knew it, but never did it) helps boost confidence that you're on the right lines.I've always wanted to add to winners, but get annoyed when they go the wrong way and reverse on me and on the fair few times i have added it has just done that, and ive always had the mentality that my stop loss is where I am proven wrong. The one thing I haven't done is be consistent at it. Add to winners, and it reverses, I'll just set a tp next time, and it wins, let it hit stop, cut positions early, cut stops early before being proven wrong. All these inconsistencies alter the trajectory of a PnL chart a lot.Couple with this, and coupled with the idea of 20 trades and ignore the outcome, I'm going to just do it. Ignore my reptile mind and just do it.I mean, if it fails, then so be it. The way I and the majority of people do things are going to fail anyway. May as well fail "properly" than by half attempting something.Good book, well worth the read just to expose your mind to new ideas. Would recommend. Even to those who aren't necessarily trading but are in other high risk ventures.Thank you Tom

First book I’ve finished in years.
As my title suggests, I’m a loser when it comes to finishing books. No problems here, loved it. I’m now even reading it for a second time, picking up gems of knowledge I missed first time round.I’m not a day trader, just trying to manage my ISA portfolio in these turbulent times. But the wisdom within these pages has helped me immensely in the last few weeks and my portfolio balance reflects it.The book is really well written in Tom’s casual but direct style. So accessible to newbie traders like me, but I imagine really helpful for experienced pros too.The best book on trading that I’ve read cover to cover!! ;)

Simply brilliant
I do not usually write reviews, (hence I'm going to keep this one short) but this book certainly deserves taking the effort. Initially bought it as an Audiobook then purchased the Kindle version as well. It is written in a concise, direct yet casual tone which makes it not just highly educative but enjoyable as well. Usually, I'm having a hard time maintaining interest in, and actually finishing technical-style books, which defeats the purpose of buying them, certainly not the case with this one.In my opinion, it's a must for anyone who's aspiring to become a successful trader.

Where have I been, how did I miss this guy??
Like many others I have bought way too many trading books, both psychology and technical analysis to be found within their pages. This one is stand out.I picked this up after I seen Tom's name somewhere on the web, following which I done some due diligence (I have been caught too many times now).Tom is without doubt the real deal I joined the telegram group to see what type of trader he is, and if he is actually a trader. HE IS DEFINATELY A TRADER, and one that trades every day live before your very eyes.I could not put the book down and I am now on the second reading. If you are a struggling trader, trying to find genuine trader resource and knowledge, look no further than here.Written from the heart by quite frankly, an amazing trader and genuine human being. A rarity indeed.

Enjoyable Read
Very readable book that I finished in a couple of sessions. Hougaard is brutally honest about his own trades, and indeed about his life. Did I learn anything new? No, I didn't. Truth is, there's not much new to learn once you've read a few trading books. Most people know what they should be doing. Actually doing it, when you've got money on the line is something else.

A Full Look at A Traders Life
Definitely not a technical book as it focuses a lot on the psychology of trading, but what it gives you is a real look behind the veil to a darker side of trading as well, told through anecdotal stories of friends and some of his own about pitfalls when things go wrong, not just on a single trade but when you lose your composure and allow it to rattle you in the moment and beyond.
