I use this as a pointer not a gun sight
(1) Purpose of purchaseI got this unit for the laser, but not to use as a gun laser sight. So this review is mainly of the laser feature without reference to how it fares on a firearm.I use lasers to overcome my tendency to procrastinate. Shining a laser beam on objects and even words on a page assists me in focusing my attention on my next task, where I need to go, and the words I read. A laser, even a Class IIIa laser such as this, is too powerful to utilize this way out of the box, and I apply a variety of techniques, including covering the laser with polarized film, to reduce its effective output.(2) Size and shapeI wanted add a laser to my productivity toolbox that was compact to complement the laser I had been using which is attached to a relatively bulky infrared thermometer "gun." This new unit is light and easy to grip between the forefinger and thumb.(3) The buttonsThe unit has two on/off buttons. These switches are located on both sides of the unit towards the back. It's a natural motion to grasp the unit with a forefinger on one button and the cooresponding thumb on the other. The buttons are stiff enough that picking up the unit does not inadvertently activate it; yet soft enough that very little pressure is needed to toggle them (only one has to be clicked, although both can be pushed simultaneously ). There is a slight amount of haptic feedback to let the user know they've successfully pressed a button.(4) ChargerThe unit came partially charged. I connected the unit to the charger and it charged up fully, the charging light changing color to indicate this. A major reason for the purchase was for the rechargeable battery.

Cheap and works great
It's bright, easy to see on the brightest of days (green,) and keeps it's sight/center carrying it around getting smacked on stuff.

It has a bad reputation but I'm going to try it anyway.
It took less than a minute to install and setup. Now I will have to shoot it to fine the yardage I want to set it at. People have said it was not a good buy however I will see for myself. 4 stars because the blue one was more money.

Big bright dot and light weight
The green dot is big and very visible even in bright sunlight, which is great in a self defence situation or in other types of rapid target acquisition and fire applications. However the size of the dot is too big for any type of precision shooting. Over all it works.

For $20, what can go wrong?
I added it to my STR-9C easily, co witnessed it with a bore laser.Let's see if it stays zero'd when we get to the range.
