Really effective
No instructions come with this product. I installed this as a base for a wide garden walkway. After talking with a sales rep I decided to use long lawn anchors to keep the edges in place as the decorative gravel I had purchased to fill it with would need refilling due to settling even though I had used a gravel barrier below after leveling the walkway. . The ground here is a factor it had been dug up that spring to allow hooking up to local sewage so I expected settling. The product worked exceptionally well. Nice long wide walkway. Settling has been marginal in most areas refills only needed in a few areas. Edges only needed reanchoring in 2 areas. While a pain to re_anchor. Needed a few more around the curve. Once fixed has not needed additional attention. I reccommend using anchors on every fin for curved or slanted areas. The product is holding up fine and works well.

Easy to assemble, one note about filling the grid…
Worked really well for our project. The caveat/note is that when filling in the grid first. Don’t dump a wheelbarrow full of stone or dirt onto it. We had a corner pull up and had to be reset because the force of dumping a wheelbarrow full of pea gravel shifted the grid even when it was staked down.Other than that human error, the product is built well. Was accurate in dimensions and is incredible durable.I had a heck of a time trying to cut a smaller section because of how thick and durable the grid is. Which isn’t a bad thing by any means.

Plan ahead
I bought the 4’x27’ size because it was substantially cheaper per sq ft. I’m covering 3000sq ft. The grids work as advertised so far. Things to think about first are:Connecting the grids is time very time consuming so larger size is betterMeasure out and mark dimension for each section to be put down to keep them squareThey don’t provide enough connectors to cover the whole sectionTie wraps work instead of connectorsI used 8” landscape spikes with large plastic washers to stake down the ends and edgesI gave it 4 stars because of the connector shortage. These are cheap pieces of plastic and it’s really annoying they give you about 1/2 of what is needed.Follow-up: I installed about 2500 sq ft over landscape fabric on top of compacted basecourse. I filled the area with ~30 tons of crushed aggregate and compacted that. In direct compression this stuff works great. I’m finding that any side loading like backing a dual axle trailer on a radius will push gravel easily down to the grid. This exposes the grid and leaves small shallow ruts where the trailer tires are side loaded in a turn. However this a huge improvement over gravel alone. I tried this because concrete in our area is so expensive. This is a cheaper option but it is not as cost effective as I’d hoped. Crushed gravel was $34/ton if I haul it. The fabric was $90/roll for 12.5x50 ft sheets. In total I spent on material approximately 40% of what the concrete alone would have cost. I was able to do most of the work myself (I own a Bobcat and dump trailer) which save me a lot over hiring a contractor. Overall a good deal but one hell of a lot of work.

Projects checked off
It worked great controlling erosion and keeping service area clean. Natural looking. We layed landscaping fabric we put 3/4 rock as base and a layer of decomposed granite..

Gravel grid
Works great.. a little tricky to keep shape until you start filling but can’t wait to extend driveway and turnaround

Works exactly as described
I used it to stabilize a gravel driveway. Worked perfectly. A little bit of a learning curve to figure out how to hold it in place at first. But overall it was fantastic.

Garbage!
The cells are way to large! Almost 8" x 8"! This will never retain pea gravel. Also, it came doubled i half and will be very hard to straighten-out to become usable.
