I bought this to navigate a recently installed stair gate while carrying the early morning cuppa back upstairs. Mugs of hot tea and coffee slid across the usual tin tray as I tried to balance it in one hand while pirouetting through the narrow gap before receiving a sharp whack on my backside as the gate closed with intent. After several mishaps and tired of removing stains from the carpet, I searched for a nonslip tray - and found this little gem. It’s quite small, though big enough to hold two mugs and my mobile phone, and I’ve not rigorously tested the possible angle of tilt before things start to slide. But suffice to say there’s room for manoeuvre and the black finish is very chic. As trays go. I’m pleasantly surprised.
