Fits correctly. Hope I don’t have to find out if it fails and stays open!

Edit: I am kind of glad I can edit my review. I previously gave this 1 star because it failed so quickly. I blamed the thermostat. Although, after some time later, I eventually found out that my radiator fan was working intermittently. So the thermostat got stuck open, but its very likely that it wasnt a defect, just doing its job. I just didnt have enough information at the point of my original review to suspect anything other than the thermostat. --- Only lasted a week in my 2001 jeep grand cherokee before the fail safe engaged. I should note that my Jeep did not have overheating issues before replacing the thermostat (changed the water pump, figured I would change the thermostat while I was there) so there wasnt any reason for the failsafe to engage. I can say the failsafe feature works though

I bought this awhile ago and only tried to install it recently. I realized right away that it wouldn't fit. As I have never used it, I asked for a refund but they said no even though they say it fit my 1990 Chevy G20 5.7L van. Terrible service if you ask me.

I purchased this as a secondary safety measure for the extreme heat here in AZ. In some cold climates your thermostat can fail and you can "possibly" drive the car a bit. This thermostat fails in the OPEN position "should it fail" thus leaving the flow of coolant moving throughout the cooling system. With the other style thermostat, if it fails, the coolant does NOT flow and thus you lose ALL cooling possibilities. It's an investment in saving an engine overheat, blowing a head gasket, warping the heads and most of all, BEING STRANDED.........it's inexpensive insurance.
