Excellent Bar
This bar is great. I have a couple standard 1" diameter EZ curl bars with threaded spin lock collars and find those to be pretty annoying. The angle on my existing bars isn't quite right for me either, so I ordered this bar...and I'm glad I didThe angles on this bar are very comfortable for me. The knurling is a bit on the light side, so most users will like that. I don't mind heavy knurling, but my power bars have it, so I'm used to it.I found that the sleeves on the bar spin very smoothly and freely. My power bar sleeves are nowhere neat as smooth as the sleeves on this bar, although it's not hugely important to me because I don't do Olympic lifts.I will say that the non-rotating bars I had were annoying when one side would come loose and one wouldn't during use. The smoothness of the sleeves on this bar totally eliminate that annoying feeling.Overall, this bar feels very well put together and of high quality. I have bars form a variety of manufacturers, including York and Ironmind, and this bar feels like it's in the same quality ballpark as those, especially for the price. It's just under $70 and I think that's a steal for this bar.I will have to see how it resists rusting. I live in Florida and train in my garage, so it'll need to be treated or wiped down to help stop rust, but the coating on the bar feels like it's pretty darn good.

Bicep Day Here I Come
Very nice curl bar. It is pretty solid. My only issue that I have had was that the bar has started to slightly rust. The bar takes weights with 2-inch holes. The weights are pretty secure and goes on and off pretty smooth. The bar's knurling (AKA the rough part on the bar), gives a good non-slip grip. It is a bit rough, or I just have sensitive hands, but either way, I recommend using gloves when lifting. The sleeves spin pretty well and have just the right amount of tension, so it is not free spinning.Even though XMark sells 2-inch weights, and those are what I am using with this bar, any 2-inch weights will work on this bar. I will see that the XMark weights that I am using are a perfect fit. I am sure that other brands will fit just as well though. The bar is supposed to weigh 21 pounds. I did not weigh it, so I cannot attest to its accuracy. I really like this bar. My biceps and triceps are getting some work. If you are looking for a curl bar for your home gym, I would highly consider this ones.

First Impression Great!
I don't want to steal the thunder from much more qualified individuals for such a review, so I will share my first impressions.First, the "meh". It's not bad, but the sleeves are not long enough to support the advertised weight capacity of 400 lbs. The most I could see anyone putting on this bar safely (with lockjaw clamps) are two 45 lb. plates and a 10 lb. plate on one sleeve. On the other hand, if you can curl more than the total weight of 223 lbs. (total 4 x 45 lb. plates, 2 x 10 lb. plates, weight of lock jaws plus the 23 lb. weight of the bar), you probably should have ordered the Convict bar instead. Another thing are how slippery the sleeves are, but I say this with a caveat. It's not safe to lift weights without clamps of some kind, even with perfect form/technique. All curl bars have sleeves that are slippery to some extent, but these feel like there's some kind of built in lube (could be the quality of the chrome which is a little softer than most other models). Just be aware that clamps of some kind are a must with this bar.The awesomeness of the bar. It actually does what it says it will. The sleeves will spin for days, which does transfer more weight to dedicated muscle groups, which gives better results for time spent. To me, the tactile feel of the grip is a bit aggressive, which might be an issue if the sleeves did not rotate as well as they do. I am really enjoying it, but I would not advise using this bar without gloves. The 28mm diameter is bigger than most other grips I've used, but it seems to work better as well. This is a very well designed bar.Overall, my first impression is great. I can't say whether it is better than XMarks other curl bars, but if this truly is a maintenance free bar, I would say it is worth 10 extra dollars.

Great Quality
The quality of both the plates and the bar seem great. I'm sure they will hold up to a lifetime of use if they're well taken care of. There is an odor given off from the rubber covering of the plates. I'm sure this is to be expected and does dissipate over time, so should not dissuade you. The bar is well made, with the knurling not too aggressive. However, the loadable length could be a bit longer. If I load all of the 95lb set I got, there is little room for a collar. Other than that, I don't think you can go wrong.

Well executed Olympic Curl Bar
Very impressed with the quality of this barbell. The packaging was a heavy cardboard tube inside a heavy cardboard box with nylon strapping to keep it all together. By the way, the tube end caps are secured with nylon rivets that can be pulled out with pliers. They don't unscrew. The knurling of the bar is fairly aggressive but not cheese grater sharp. The spindles spin with just enough resistance so as not to be distracting. The overall fit and finish is much nicer than expected. Overall weight is 22.5 lbs. With plastic cam lock clamps (Clout Fitness) total weight is 23.0 lbs. The overall length is a bit over 47" and doesn't safely fit my rack. The barbell arrived with just a light coating of oil on the spindles and some other type of treatment on the barbell proper. All in all, I'm pleased with the product.
