The fan replacement was easy, works and runs quietly. Putting the fridge back together also easy. Taking it apart... not so easy.Just a heads up - if your fridge is really frozen, it can take some time. Don't try to rush it. I got impatient and when I popped the top of the assembly off, it turned out the entire fan bracket was encased in ice. Well, the bracket broke and I'm not able to find a replacement part. Hoping the superglue holds, otherwise will have to try to model it and 3d print a replacement. That was after 45+ minutes with a hair dryer trying to melt ice and get the styrofoam free to remove the back cover. If you can move everything to a garage fridge/freezer and let it defrost overnight, this repair could likely be done in 10 minutes.Despite the pain in getting to the ice encased fan, I'd still highly recommend this cheap repair over either a repair service (which will likely need to bill you for a couple hours of thawing ice) or replacing the fridge. Unless you just want an excuse for a new fridge.

Well for the second time I've had to fix my Samsung fridge over the 12 plus yrs I've had it. First time we had it all of 5 yrs? Max? I refuse to pay over $700 for someone to come out and fix it. One guy tried to "make a deal" (I laughed in his face couldn't help myself)... was going to do me a "favor" charge me $1500 for a used fridge he has, and take this one "off my hands to junk it for parts" Yep Im sure he was. So funny! How about, $50 bucks and me and a buddy fixed the issue that time.This time, looked up this part, (my bottom ice maker was quite, first warning, thankfully we moved frozen foods a day before to garage freezer) got up next day and ice cream was completely melted. Ordered the part, and meanwhile we defrosted, and it did start to make ice again, so I left it alone even though I had the part which I stored in cabinet knowing it was going to be need "very shortly". By time I had a day off work, yep, everything stopped again.UNPLUGGED FRIDGE BEFORE YOU DO A THING:Replaced this part after it quite again. (make sure you take off the back panel and get ALL the ice out from the fan which will be completely caked with ice and impossible for it to turn. Then take a flat shaped spoon (like a cream spoon, its easiest, do NOT use a fork or anything sharp), and clean out ALL the styrofoam, and get up into the crevice areas of that back panel ...clear out ALL ice build up. Put back, replace part, and within 12 hrs ice will begin to make and the freezer will be freezing again! It took us 45 mins. However, I had someone help me, ...its good to have a "small" person sit inside the "bottom" of the freezer to get to this part easier if you have someone who can... this helped us get the part out and new one installed a lot quicker;/easier. Its not super hard to reach but for those of us that are taller, and/or older, turning your arm is a challenge with reach too, so we just had her get inside and take it out. Putting in and replacing was SO easy!! For a $23 dollar part, I am quite sure I'll get a few more YEARS of work out of this Fridge.Strongly suggest Youtube Video first. Just so you know exactly what to do. This modulator is more of a regulator for the freezer and allows fan to turn without icing up to where it can't. If we had not replaced this timely, it would have burned motor out. Soon as fridge stops making ice, (bottom ice maker), get this and save your fridge and your pocket! It's been fine since, no noises, and my ice cream is safe again! HA!
