Panasonic Twin-X Compact 2-blade Shaver ES4815P-S Silver | DC3V (2 x AA Alkaline) (Japan Model)

I have been using the Panasonic portable shavers for over a decade now. Very durable and reliable, and I hope this one lasts long. Received the product in good condition from the seller.

My regular shaver is a Braun Series 8 shaver that I paid $350 plus tax for a year or so ago, it gives me a decent shave, as you would expect for the price, but it's pretty bulky and heavy to carry when I'm away for a few days so I decided to look for a compact, battery operated travel shaver. I spent hours reading the reviews, lots of hours, the Panasonic Twin X gets good reviews (as do several others) but if it says Panasonic "on the box" you know you are buying quality, more so when it says "Made in Japan." The above might set you off on the right foot, but we are talking about a $60 "travel shaver" here, so I wasn't expecting it to be as good as my S8. The first time I used it I was blown away by how close and comfortable the shave that the Twin X gave me, it's almost as close a shave as my S8 and every bit as comfortable. I'm AMAZED at how good this little shaver is, I won't be spending $350 plus tax on a shaver ever again !!!

Good quick electric shaver. Not as close as a blade, but good for a quick shave. Seems powerful given just two AA batteries, good that they are removable for travel. It is a shame it doesn't come with tweo batteries (it is from Panasonic..) but I guess it makes it cheaper.

I've been using Panasonic shavers over the last few decades: big ones, small travel ones. This replaces the previous black iteration, the ES 3831Wet shaver. Both are battery (AAX2) powered which makes it standalone & brilliant for traveling. No more power point recharging angst. On a daily shave for face & for me, a bald head, the battery lasts for at least 2 weeks before it starts to peter out with a noticeable drop in cutting vigour. When I first contemplated buying this I wasn't sure if it would do a better job than my aging black ES 3831Wet shaver based on the raw specs. After using it for the past 6 months on a daily basis, I can say that it's definitely an improvement over the previous version. The mesh is more refined (double mesh vs single mesh in the older one), the motor is more refined, with a much higher oscillation rate & hence the cutting closeness is definitely much closer & smoother. The materials used are light & plasticky but in no way detracts from the precision design & effectiveness. The lightness can be viewed as an asset actually, if you're like me and have a bald head to get through, shaving sessions can be prolonged & the lighter heft is definitely kinder to your handling and muscles. The fact that I don't have to worry about a fading inbuilt Li-ion battery & only use handy AA batteries makes this good for the long run. The Panasonic build is durable- with my older, larger rechargeable ES shaver as testament, having lasted more than 10 years! You won't get as close a shave as with a blade, but you won't be cutting yourself either. If you can get it on sale, for the quality & versatility, it's well worth the money.
