Westcott Compact Retractable Box Opener (16474), Uses Slice Ceramic Blades

This little box opener is the best thing ever. Safe and very strong and sharp.

I gave this as a gift to my entire family this year for xmas. Really handy and much less expensive than competing brands. Westcott ftw.

The blades are amazing, the size is handy. This is used for a retail store, so safety is important. The rounded blades don't poke or cut my hand by mistake. It cuts through cardboard and plastic with ease. Was able to cut through plastic wrapped clothes without cutting the clothes fabric. Strong enough to cut through thick cardboard to be able to break it down for compacting. Great product!

Good product. I have no issues with this thus far. The blade is small but doesn't take away from its sharpness or usefulness. If anything, it reassures me better that any items I have inside the boxes I try to open aren't damaged. This also comes with a magnet inside which makes for easy/quick storage (I keep mine on a dry erase board and it stays on it without a problem). Also, the lock function located in the back is to lock the case together and keep it from opening/separating. Only unlock it whenever you have to switch the blade out. It is NOT for locking the blade out so you don't have to manually hold it when using. You will always have to push the blade out whenever you want to use this. UPDATE January 2020: It's almost 2 years since I bought this box opener and I have to say, it's as good as the day I first got it and it's been used REGULARLY. I get a lot of packages and I used this on every single one without problems. I never changed the blade (not sure when I'm supposed to since the blade it came in with still works like new). This item is a definite must-have for any household!
