Dr Pooper saved our septic!!
This stuff works wonders! We were having issues with our septic and when it was full again only a few months after having it pumped we knew we had an issue. We were also having several moist squishy areas in the yard from the leach field. While the grass loved those spots and grew like wildfire we were not so happy about it. So after some research we found this product highly recommended to clean the leach field. We figured since it was so reasonably priced (especially in comparison to having the septic pumped again and changes made to the leach field so it would properly drain) that we would give it a try. The directions are plain simple and to the point. Within a week we noticed a difference in the wet areas of the yard and not much longer those areas were dry and draining properly. This product saved us so much frustration! We have ordered it several times now to maintain the bacteria levels in our septic an we highly recommend it to anyone having issues with their septic!

Part of a Good Maintenance Strategy
Update: Our lines were just too far gone for this product to be a long-term solution. We had to just bite the bullet and install new leach field pipe. Previous home owners had used corrugated plastic in a sock. Never use this as the sock immediately clogs. Reinstalled with 150 yards of PVC surrounded by river rock, 5 ft. deep. Then plastic cloth over that, then dirt. While doctor pooper helped temporarily, we lost the battle. ---- We had a squishy and pooling drain field (leach field). We're in the country and it wasn't a huge deal as our leach field is 150 yards out and in a pasture and far down a hill. So, there was no chance that it would back up into the house since the water was eventually coming out and pooling. However, we all know that this isn't what it's supposed to do and not the optimum situation for the cattle that we're planning on having out in that pasture. We had just moved into our very rural home in East Texas that had been very neglected for several years and eventually abandoned a couple years prior our purchasing the property. We bought the home not realizing the septic was pooling because of the vegetation that had been allowed to grow up in the pasture. It was a cash purchase and we knew there were a lot of issues with the home and it was a fixer upper. In any case, after mowing / shredding the pasture and discovering the pooling, I made sure to remove any saplings or small bushes from anywhere near where the pooling was occurring. I found a big root ball directly above the line that was close to the pooling area and removed a large root ball with our tractor and then used copper sulfate to insure that any roots in the leach lines were addressed. Still 5 months later, the leach field was pooling and squishy. I contacted a local septic service that advised me that it would be a huge expense to replace my leach field due to the old anaerobic system we have. The county would get involved, there would need to be an update of the tank, etc. and to try whatever I could on my own to get the lines unclogged and flowing all down the lines. They also advised to add more top soil since erosion had stripped our leach field of at least a foot of dirt. Fair enough. I leveled the leach field as well as possible with more topsoil, immediately. After that, we were still pooling and that is when I decided tried Dr. Pooper and Roebic K-570-Q Leach And Drain Field Opener Concentrate. After three bottles of the Roebic, I was still seeing pooling when we would do laundry or wash dishes (along with normal water usage). I then found Dr. Pooper and decided to give it a try. I don't know if it was a combination of the Roebic and the Dr. Pooper, but I really don't care either way. But, after about the fourth application of Dr. Pooper, our leach field began to dry up. So, my theory is that the previous owners never really did much to make sure the lines were biomat and grease free and put a lot of fish grease down the drain over the years (they were avid fishermen). Once I started to use the Dr. Pooper tablets the results were pretty immediate. I've ordered another bucket and am going to get through those treatments and see where it is then. Then I'll follow their maintenance dosage of one tablet, every two weeks. I was a skeptic but definitely a believer now. I realize that this won't work for some situations. However, if grease and bio material have clogged up your leach line holes, this is definitely worth a shot before spending 15k on a new leach field. That's our story and I'll update this review as things progress.

This product worked amazingly for me!!
Why did you pick this product vs others?: My toilet started making a gurgling noise and would not completely flush about every third time. I haven't had my tank cleaned out since I lived here the past seven years. I called a septic cleaning service and they said I had to dig up to where they can access the lid and then they could get me an appointment with one to two weeks notice for $500. In the process a limb fell on my electric line and bent my conduit pole holding my weatherhead. This caused the electric wire to hang down preventing a truck from accessing my back yard until I get it repaired, and I keep getting no responses from electricians. During this, my toilet stop flushing completely with just a little water going down. I saw this product and ordered it. I am shocked, but after using it for three days, my toilet flushes completely every single time with no more gurgling and now more smells. I can't believed it worked so well. I'm still going to have my septic cleaned out, but this product worked really well for me.

Seems to have solved my problem
So, seems to be working wonderfully. I was lax and my septic system was neglected for years and years with no penalty. A few months ago, the chickens came home to roost, a backup in the downstairs toilet, after a shower upstairs. After finding the long forgotten cap to the septic in the front yard, it was revealed to be full of solids. The septic tech kept taliing about system failure. I said, pump it for today, get me working, and Id deal with the percussions as it filled again. I was watching slow toilet flushes, not very effective, sometimes two flushes were needed. In my mind, I feared the septic had failed. Reading that failure has a few symptoms. You could have tree roots thatbreal your system, or more likely the drain field conduits are clogged with grease and matter. I was concerned, I started a RidX discipline every few weeks… a little better. So I wondered if there was a cleaning service, and found this product As directed, results almost immediately, strong quick flushes… meaning the water has somewhere to go easily. With each 3 day dose, better and better. Almost done with the container, but ao obviously fixed. As spring comes, Ill have them inspect again, but I think Ive done it. This price is a good first attempt versus a septic tank repair or replace. Thanks.

Easy to use. Did it work? TBD
Using two tablets every three days for a couple of months and issue is not fixed but not any worse. Will continue to monitor and update of major changes either way. Simple enough to drop in toilet and flush.

These things work. They are easy to use and store. They are a little pricey but worth it in order to keep your drain field clean.
