Mosquito Net Hammock Cover - Best for Camping by Bear Butt

This style with with the horizontal zipper is so much better than a vertical. It opens up easier and allows you to swing your feet out to excite and enter. I’ve had mine over three years and use it every week in the warm months and everything is still in good shape. I’ve taken it on several back country trips and it holds up to the swarms well! It’s large enough that I can fit my underquilt and hammock in easily and it's still loose enough to keep the bugs at a distance. I leave the bug net, hammock and underquilt together and just pull my Bear Butt snake skin over all of them. And store in a large compression sack. Then it’s easy to deploy all at once and protects everything from snagging out in the woods until it’s safely hung. Then I remove the snake skin, fluff things up, and it’s ready to climb in. Takes 2 minutes! If this one ever dies, I’ll buy it again.

Works really well. I prefer this over the ENO brand - bear butt makes some really good quality gear. I am a return customer!

I absolutely love my new bear butt mosquito net. It fits around my bear butt double parachute hammock and provides instant protection from bugs. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking a great hammock net. Even better feature is the zipper across the side, different from most Velcro ones. The zipper makes for a better seal and seam from bugs and creates an easy way to get out in case you need a potty break in the middle of the night.

I'm a very short woman at 5'1". I use a double hammock, hang it really loose, and sleep in it diagonally so that I can lay flat and be comfortable. While this net works well if you're lying inline with your hammock, it's too small for a diagonal lay. By the time I got into my usual position, my head was pressing against the net through the wall of the hammock (hammock sides were still loose. ). The top of the net was stretched so far across the ridgeline that I worried about it tearing. Other than that, it's a good net. Great quality, super fine mesh, zippers don't jam, and it's easy to get on and off even going over an underquilt. I'll give this one to my husband and keep looking for my own solution.

Easy to use/easy to store. Packs just like a hammock into it's own pocket. Slip in on one end of the hammock and tighten the ties in place. Two zippers for preferred opening. Good quality too. Haven't been bit yet! I'd expect nothing less from Bear Butt.

It's on the small side. At only 10', long hammocks like my 12'+/- just don't fit without stretching the mesh. The workmanship & quality-feel of this net seems to be awesome though.... & not even counting the awesome co. name (e.g. the reason why I chose this net over others I'd looked at). Unfortunately, I'll have to look to another provider, as this net just isn't long enough to fit my needs, but I'd encourage others to consider it for theirs, given my initial impression of it!

This bug net does keep the mosquitos away. We gave it 4 stars because one of the clips broke the 1st time we were taking it down. Otherwise, good purchase for the price.

Bear Butt may be a new start-up, but their products are legit! The bug net feels well constructed and is very easy to slide over the hammock. The included guyline is a nice, easy-to-see red color however, the silver striping doesn't appear to be reflective; I also wish it was thicker. Like other reviews have said, the included stuff sack isn't large enough, it just needs to be like 10% larger. Unlike other reviews, I found that the net wasn't all that useful at keeping away mosquitoes and no-see-ums. Not even with Sawyer Maxi-DEET covering my net, was it enough to keep the little bugs from biting me. This won't stop me from using the net, but it's not ideal for Florida bugs.

I tried this big net out for the first time and was very impressed! My campsite was very buggy but this net really kept them out of my hammock. It’s also longer than other options which is great as my hammock is on the longer side. Would definitely recommend. Just be aware that the rope it comes with isn’t the longest- I had to use my own longer rope but this is an easy fix.

Unsure of backcountry use, but this was perfect for a car camping trip to keep the bugs off! Set up easily with a generic hammock and relatively soft mesh to touch.
