The library ladder kit transformed our kids’ bunk bed into a cool and functional space. Its sturdy construction and smooth rolling mechanism make accessing the top bunk a breeze for the little ones. This kit was easy to install and moves extremely smoothly. It would have made building the ladder easier if they had had some basic guidelines in the instructions. A few web searches provided the information to design and build the 9 foot ladder. I used red oak which made a heavy and solid/sturdy ladder. Movement is easy and I added to the width making the travel 12 feet. The total of wood and additional track was less than 80.00. This is a great value and quality kit.

This kit is EXACTLY what we needed for the vision we had for a rolling ladder in this room. It was a very quick and easy install, and functions GREAT. It rolls so smoothly that even on carpet, it's easy to glide across while ON the ladder. We could not be happier with this. We used the kit, plus three extensions. Took us maybe an hour to complete. We already had the ladder itself. Definitely recommend. Also, either the people who had trouble with the screws stripping weren't pre-drilling holes before installing screws, or the company has improved the quality of the screws, because we had zero issues with that.

Track wheels and mounts are sturdy, the weld quality is questionable on the track mounting brackets. (Welds are partially burned through the metal.) the wheel brackets for the bottom of the ladder need bolts not screws since the is nothing to wrap around to the otherside of the ladder rail to keep it from pulling away overtime. Overall, the screws provided are insufficient for the application. The other hardware is decent for the price. This ships from China, or at least my order did. If you have the extra cash just order the kit from rockler woodworking. Their stuff is very high quality.

So I bought the main roller with the casters for the bottom of the ladder and everything on eBay and then bought the extension track on Amazon. Overall, it does the job pretty well. But there are things to be aware of: 1. Far as I can tell, this same company makes three different versions of this product. If all you get is the base product without an extension, doesn't make a whole lot of difference which one you get, though there are considerations which I'll get to in a moment. But if you need the extension, it's not enough to buy the same brand name. You need to check pictures and make sure you get a compatible extension because the three versions are NOT compatible with each other. 2. The version I original bought and thus needed the extension for has a rather wide bracket. It's a bit of over 4 inches from top to bottom which presented a problem since my bookshelf doesn't have 4.5 inch thick shelves. I had to rig something up where I attached a 2x4 to the top of the bookshelf and even with that, the edge of the bracket hangs off the edge of the 2x4 slightly. They have another version with a round bracket which has a smaller footprint but I had already bought this version for the main product so I was stuck. Far as I can tell, only way to know which you are buying is to check the pictures. 3. Again, check pictures carefully, especially if, like me, you need the extension because the extensions are from the same company and have the same product name but are NOT compatible with each other. 4. I found that even once I had the right extension bar, the extension holder wasn't a perfect fit (it's a little thing that fits into either side and is meant to let them hold together). Thus the two parts are a tiny fraction of an inch off from each other. It's useable but you notice a slight bump when wheeling the ladder over the bump. 5. I didn't bother with the screws it came with and just used my own so I can't comment on that. But it was super annoying that it didn't come with a hex key for the brake. Fortunately, I had a huge set of hex keys and found one that fit. Otherwise you risk the ladder sliding right of the rail if you go too far. 6. Overall, seems sturdy enough and I'm a fairly large man. It held my weight just fine and didn't buckle at all but as I said, it was a pain because i bought the wrong version of the extension and had to wait for a replacement. 7. One more issue which likely won't matter to many but I want to mention it -- this has to be perfectly aligned to be level. As I mentioned, I had to rig up a 2x4 to make this thing fit my bookshelf. Because of this, I attached brackets on the back to make sure the 2x4 was held firmly in place and the 2x4 has a very slight angle now because of that. When I first attached this thing to the 2x4, it wouldn't glide. I had to really struggle with it. I solved the problem by inserting a few thin gaskets behind the top of the bracket so that it was absolutely level. Overall, happy with it and this was by far the least expensive option I found but it was a lot more trouble than it should have been because the company doesn't make it clear they have three different versions. The instructions are also not very helpful though that seems to be common with a lot of these kind of products...

In addition to the rolling ladder hardware I purchased an additional three sections. The result looks great and I’m happy with the quality of the wheels and like that the rollers slide up so you can store the ladder when not in use. I only had one issue but the seller resolved quickly. The stop pieces that slide onto ends have a screw that tightens with an Allen wrench but the powder coating has fused the tip of the screw to the base and I eventually stripped it trying to get it to budge. I emailed the seller and they shipped me two more and those worked fine. I did not have any issues with the screws that some reviews mentioned so they may be better quality now. Make sure to drill pilot holes.

Menos mal que encontré la barra suelta e igual que la del kit compuesto de barras más las piezas, que compré hace tiempo para mi escalera de biblioteca, pero me faltaba un tramo para poder completar el recorrido. Material muy resistente y robusto.

Nella descrizione si comprende che la scala in legno è compresa nella fornitura, quando in realtà l'acquisto riguarda soltanto le guida scorrevole. Il prezzo sarebbe stato molto interessante se la fornitura avesse compreso anche la scala. Trattandosi della sola guida il prezzo è un po alto.

I was really only buying this set for the wheels, so I wasn't that concerned about the rest of the kit. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of all the components though. It was budget priced compared to others I had looked at so my expectations were low. I would definitely recommend this item.

The base is really uneven, it’s impossible to align the rods and the ladder won’t slide smoothly. It can’t be corrected by bending as it will break from the welding in that case. I was fooled by a misguiding review which I believe must be from the seller himself. In addition the rubber ring at end cap arrived shrunk and broken. On contacting the seller, I was advised to wrap sticky tape on it to fix it myself! Overall problematic and dysfunctional and your concerns won’t be addressed. Don’t buy.

La calidad es casi aceptable si se tiene en cuenta que por este precio no hay otra opción, al menos online. Aun me falta ver como aguanta el paso del tiempo, sobre todo la pintura, que parece de poco espesor. Las ruedas son de un patín y podrian ser más grandes si, como parece, quieren asimilarse a las putman. La chapa que sujeta las ruedas tiene mucha holgura y no transmite sensación ninguna de robustez, en comparación con los herrajes de arriba. Y por último, la longitud de la barra es por decirlo de forma educada, inútil. Quien compra esto es para una escalera deslizante, pero la barra es de 1 m... En fin, un engaño, una ridiculez. Sirve para mandarla a un herrero y que te hagan a medida lo mismo pero de la longitud que necesites. Al menos debería indicarse en las caracteristicas del producto o poder comprarse por separado segmentos de barra y conectores. Si hubiera habido una alternativa, no habría comprado esto. Toca pagar un poco más, pedir la barra en algún taller y arreglar las holguras de las ruedas con unos casquillos.
