Hildegard's Original Bitters Tablets: Herbal Remedy for Fasting Support, Kidney Liver Cleanse Detox & Repair, Heartburn, & Digestion Supplements

I want to address the 2 primary complaints about the product which is the taste and its ability to help with cravings Taste: I'm pretty confused with all the complaints about the taste. It's not amazing tasting but in comparison to the taste of these herbs on their own its much better. For those of you complaining, have you ever smelled or tasted Angelica root on its own? It's pretty unpleasant.This product is a significant improvement. Other people have complained also about its ability to control cravings- it has helped me with this. The common issue that this product solves is over eating due to lingering tastes in your mouth like after you eat something salty you want to counterbalance it with something sweet, but then you ate too much of that sweet thing and you you need something salty again. This product neutralizes your mouth to prevent this problem from happening, and the slight bitterness does seem to discourage me from eating more. As for the heath effects- I have noticed on many occasions that it has helped me digest food better and go to the bathroom easier. This is even with me using 1/2 a tablet to 1 tablet.

These bitters are very high quality. I dissolved the first one on my tongue, and it had a pleasant herbal flavor. As the tablet dissolves in your mouth, it releases the bitterness through your saliva onto your palate and settles there. Only a faint herbal taste remains in my mouth after it is completely gone. I can see how some people might be disenchanted with the taste, but I typically drink strong herbal tea without any sweetener, so I’m not affected. Even though I haven’t used these long enough to see how they will affect my appetite, I can tell you that it has almost immediately affected my cravings as the bitterness creates a suppression to eat, as if the tang makes me disinterested in tasting anything. It kind of has the same effect on drinking things in that it makes everything taste sort of bland. I mainly bought these to aid in digestion, and to stay consistent with my intermittent fasting routine. I think they will be very helpful! Also, the shipping was fast and the packaging is very sturdy! I consider this a great product!

It’s hard to review this....to be honest, I had no idea what I was getting myself in to. The idea of curbing cravings and helping digestion, etc sounds great and I thought “meh a lil bitter tablet can’t be all that bad” so BOOM, I bought it. I was trying to fight off snacking in the middle of my work day and popped one of these suckers in my mouth....WORST TASTING THING I’VE EVER HAD. I don’t know how in the world people can eat these things. I had to spit it out and I’m pretty sure even my neighbors heard me gagging. Not for me.

Nice product! I occasionally take these after meals to help distract me from dessert cravings. They won't work on their own, and they won't affect your palate if you decide to go for dessert anyway, but combined with other strategies they can be helpful. I personally like the bitter flavor, but the formula seems to have changed recently. I just received my second pack and they are definitely sweeter than the previous pack. I see all the reviewers saying these are too bitter, but I wish they were more bitter! These are too sweet for fasting, but overall I still like them. An unsweetened version would be amazing!
