Keyed Entry Door Lock, Single Cylinder Deadbolt with Matching Tulip Style Knob, Antique Brass, TUCO0605,Combo

I needed to replace my old lock because the deadbolt was sluggish and I didn't want to have two separate keys (so I ordered this whole set). The Master Lock TUCO0605 came in many pieces in a hard shell plastic packaging. To my surprise the manufacturer included 4 keys (all the same). Installation was quite simple and took me about 20-30 minutes. Tools needed: Screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver and a tongue. Maybe you don't need the tongue but my lock had a steel frame/plate on the outside with a hole for the old doorknob (which had two 'noses' that didn't fit the two screw-stems of the new one so I had to bend them inwards). If you don't have this metal plate on your door - forget about the tongue. The deadbolt has a key side and a lever to turn around (lock/unlock) on the other side (the side you can not see in the official product photos). You can actually reverse the two sides so it doesn't matter in which direction your door opens. The doorknob unit also has a key side and a lever (lock/unlock) on the other side. Same as with the deadbolt, you can reverse it. The key works the following way on the doorknob unit (same with the lever on the inside - just reverse): * Turn the key 90° clockwise and the doorknob is locked. You cannot turn it anymore. If you close the door now you could lock yourself out. * Turn the key 90° counterclockwise and the doorknob is unlocked. Now you can turn it. In this mode you can open and close the door without a key. * Turn the key ~180° counterclockwise and the doorknob is unlocked and the door opens as if you would turn the doorknob. [* directions assuming the hinges are on your right when standing outside looking at the door] QUALITY: Pretty good for ~$25. It's solid and about the same quality feel of every other doorknob I have ever used. I guess you could buy better quality with more money for an even smoother key fit/movement, but I'm totally satisfied. The doorknob is a tiny bit loose (you can rattle it a bit if you like), but for that price I don't expect it to be precisely crafted as a Swiss watch.

Looks like a nice set, one i had on the door must have been really cheap because this set looks and feels better quality. Easy to install and works. I would say a medium duty set, not heavy duty commercial but certainly not light duty either.

For anyone who knows how to install a lock, these are very easy to install. If you need the directions, however, I'm not sure how easy installation would be. The instructions are cluttered and in different languages. I only glanced at them, which is why I did not pay attention to the different faces for the backset piece. On the first door, I should have used the rectangular one, but it really made no difference, except in looks. I also had no idea whatsoever what the "drive in collars" are for. The only real installation problem I had with the first door was I failed to extend the adjustable backset piece. The backset measurement was 2-3/4, but the backset piece seemed to fit fine not extended. The knobs and everything else fit fine, too. But when opening and closing the door, the latch plunger appeared to be too short for the strike plate, with no locking possible. Hence, I took the knobs off, extended the backset piece and the door locked really well. The second door should have been a breeze, but the knob hole was actually not cut exactly right, and I had to saw out a little on the left side of it to get the extended backset piece to fit. I didn't even try it unextended, because of what happened with the first door. In addition, the strike plate was so hard to remove, I left it, and this Master lock fortunately worked fine with it. There were two matching keys included with these two entry locks. The warranty is 25 years for mechanical and five years for the finish. Save your invoice!

Our old lock broke after more than 10 years of use and I decided to replace it with this one. The product arrived well packaged and all the small parts and accessories were present. A good, well written instruction is also provided. Installation can be either very easy or a little tricky. It will all depend on your particular situation: on whether you will be installing it on the current or a new door, if the holes are pre-drilled or not and so on. In my case it was not as easy as I hoped. I was installing this lock on the old door that already had a main hole from the old lock, but it turned out the hole was a little too small for it. So I had to get some special tools to drill a wider hole. After that everything went smoothly. I have had this lock installed for several months now and I have not had any problems with it. The key works fine (3 keys are included) and the deadbolt is strong and secure. If you are looking for a lock replacement, this would be a good choice.

Installed in just a few minutes and is so very simple install. Love that the same key fits both locks and they seem to be very well made and should last for many years. It included 3 keys (not four) and the head of the keys is quite large and larger than needed, however, it poses no special problems, although larger than desired. With the quality, I gave it a 5 star since I can see that it is heavy duty and quality made. Update: I liked this lockset enough that I bough another months later on my back door which needed a new lockset and I liked the way my first set installed easily and works well. Would love to have same key for both lock sets and may see about getting them rekeyed.

I have an atrium in the front of my apartment and wanted to put a lock on it to provide minimum security for the stuff in the atrium. The product was among the cheapest in the list that Amazon populated and I made my purchase. When I opened the product up, it was of good solid quality and the key and mechanism worked well. I was able to install and remove the old door knob in about 5 minutes total. As others have mentioned, the key is a bit funky and large, but I don't mind it at all. It is easy to find and I have had it in for a month or so now without any problems. Highly recommended.
