This book was a gift, and I was delighted to find a pattern for a Log Cabin quilt, which I’ve wanted to make for a long time but hadn’t a clue how to start. I just happened to have the jelly roll featured in the book, so I bought some backing fabric and dived right in. Absolute beginners might find the details a little scant, but that’s easily corrected with a quick look online. Generally, the instructions are clear and concise. I really like the diagrams showing the many ways rearranging the quilt blocks can affect the outcome.I know quilters can be sniffy about precuts but I love them. This is a little gem of a book, and I’m sure it’s one I’ll return to again and again.

The format of the book is brilliant with necessary information and great for beginners.
