I love it!!!!
I absolutely love this! I use it in front of my golf simulator in the garage. It works wonderfully! I could not be happier. It is very thick and soft. It rolls up easily. Well worth the money and high quality!

Perfect rug pad
Outstanding rug pad! I used the pad under a 9x12 carpet (purposely chose a larger size so I could put a runner right next to the larger rug). First, let me say that I managed to maneuver this huge rug pad by myself, just one short guy and a huge heavy rug pad! It wasn’t easy — because the thing actually does its job and grips to the floor, so moving it around was quite cumbersome— but it was at least possible with effort. Once I got it in place, I got my (Ruggable one-piece rug) on top of it pretty easily. I taped down the far edge of the carpet to the pad just to give it some stability while I dragged my sofa back into place on top of it. I fully expected that the whole system would shift while I moved the couch and I’d have to wrestle painfully to get it back into position, and then spend a long time taping the rest of the rug to the pad below to keep it from shifting. But no! — the Mohawk rug pad didn’t budge and it kept everything in place. I’m using the pad over wall to wall carpet and I have to say this is a brilliant rug pad for that setup. I was skeptical at first of the instructions of “felt side down (on the wall to wall carpet) and “rubber side up” (contacting the new area rug). But this rug pad is flawless for soft surface placement. I didn’t have to tape down any more of the rug past the initial one foot strip — it just doesn’t budge on the carpet beneath (the felt locks into fibers) and the rug on top doesn’t budge, being gripped by the rubber. I could not be more pleased. And btw, I didn’t notice an odor other than a faint whiff when I opened the package. I highly recommend this rug pad for any use but especially for over-carpet use.

Better than I expected
I purchased one of those super thin washable rugs for my living room. Naturally it came tightly folded so it was quite wrinkled. After being downforce several days, most of the wrinkles released, but not all. Since it was so thin I decided to get a pad for underneath. This pad is great! We cut it so that it is 4 inches shorter than the rug on each side. That way the rug lays flat against the floor so no tripping hazard and the doors glide easily over it. While it was quite wrinkled, once the rug was down the wrinkles didn’t show. In fact, the remaining wrinkles in the rug don’t show with the pad underneath. Now my rug looks and feels better. Much softer under foot.

Great rug pad stays put, but rug is thin and moves all over the place
Bought for my area rug in my kitchen because I have the same brand under my large area rug in the living room. It’s the perfect thickness for our tile floor to protect the area rug and they both fit perfectly in between our sink and refrigerator. The rubberized bottom that sticks to the floor works well and seems to stay put, and because you can buy them to fit it was very easy to install after sweeping and mopping the floor. However the top of the rug pad where the rug sits allows the rug to slip all over the place, so not sure if it’s the fact that rugs are so thin that they don’t have enough weight to grip to rug pad, or it’s lack of grip from the top of rug pad. Definitely recommend Mohawk rug pads as I have them under several thicker rugs and they work well.

ABSOLUTE PUTRID ODOR THAT IS SICKENING!
I don't usually write reviews, but as I believe this is a safety issue I felt it was my moral obligation to write it. I ordered several of these Mohawk Home Non-Slip Rug Pads during January and February of 2024. The odor is nauseating. I put them outside during the day to air them out but it didn't help at all. The disgusting smell began to increase throughout my house and I couldn't get the odor to go away. I woke up in the middle of the night and had to run into the bathroom feeling light-headed and nauseous. I reported this directly to Mohawk and I was told they recently had a "bad batch," and they believed the odor was most likely caused by contaminated dye that was added to the latex for color. The smell intensified, especially while my heat was on, so I had a service call with an HVAC/Duct company. He explained that the odor from the rug pads was blown throughout my house when the heat was on and then the return vent sucked up the air sending it back to my heating system which then circulated the horrific-smelling air throughout my entire house. He cleaned and deodorized the HVAC system which helped somewhat, but the smell lingers in my furniture, rugs, blankets, etc. I have been washing everything non-stop and have sprayed Febreze everywhere. I looked back through the Amazon reviews about these Mohawk rug pads and I have found many other people complaining about the dreadful stench, and this goes all the way back to 2020. So the reason given to me by Mohawk for the atrocious odor being caused by a "bad batch" that recently occurred is not only unacceptable but complete hogwash. I contacted the EPA as well as filed a complaint with the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission about this issue. It is well known that VOCs, Volatile Organic Compounds, are found in many products, including rug pads, and can lead to poor indoor air quality causing numerous issues including respiratory symptoms. VOCs can be carcinogenic to human beings. I have been nauseated, dizzy, and cannot get this sickening odor out of my house. I have tried using strong mouthwash, chewing peppermint gum, and drinking peppermint tea but I cannot get that horrific smell out of my nose or respiratory tract that has come from these disgusting Mohawk rug pads. I am grateful to Amazon for refunding my money for the four Mohawk Home Non-Slip Rug Pads, but I am concerned that nothing was done to resolve the real issue, the safety issue of these rug pads. I recommended to Amazon that they take the rug pads off of their site immediately and I am hopeful that they will. I recontacted Mohawk yesterday, March 18, 2024, via email, sending them the Amazon reviews with odor issues as far back as 2020 and the response I got was, "This was from 2020 and these people might have some kind of "allergy" that make them more sensitive to certain things." They have swept the rug pad odor issue under the rug. No pun intended. I am extremely dissatisfied with Mohawk and will never purchase anything from the company again.

Good quality
I bought the 1/2 inch rug pad. It makes a big difference in the way my rug feels walking on it. The pad provides a very nice cushion since my rug is very thin. I ordered the 9 x 13 size pad however it is few inches larger than that. A lot of the reviews that I saw before I ordered said it is very hard to cut, which is true as you cannot use a scissor. I used a razor blade tool it made it much easier since it is a layer of felt on top of a thin layer of rubber backing. I am very happy with this purchase. My rug is a few inches bigger than 9 x 13 which worked out well but I still had to cut the pad a couple of inches on all sides so the edges of the rug lay flat on the floor and not on the pad to prevent tripping on the edges of the rug,

Exactly as advertised. Very happy
I had purchased a 4x6 faux fur rug. It was wonderfully fuzzy, but had absolutely no padding, and the smooth backing was slippery as ice. I tried a different anti slip pad first, but the rug kept slipping off the pad. This pad solves all the problems. It is exactly 4 x 6 feet. It is just shy of a half inch thick. ( I was going to get the 3/8 inch, but for the price, I decided to upgrade. I’m glad I did. It’s good padding, but I think anything less wouldn’t be adequate.) The 1/2 inch padding is thick enough to make it comfortable to sit or kneel on the floor. (Anyone can stand on these, but if old knees are comfortable, you know it’s good.) What’s really amazing is that—as advertised—the bottom surface holds fast to my laminate floor and the top surface holds the rug safely in place. The rug itself has uneven edges (it’s supposed to look like a fur rug) so I’m going to eventually trim the pad to more evenly match the rug. Previous reviews suggested that it is easy to trim. If I have any problems, I’ll update this review. Otherwise, I’ll say—especially from someone who had been shopping for a good pad for a while—this is an excellent non-slip pad and is excellent quality for the price. Edited later to add: Well, I came back to add an update, but I never actually posted this review. So, I’ll just add and post. Several weeks later and I’m still very happy with this pad. But I did want to add a note about trimming it. As mentioned above, the rug I have on top of the mat is not an exact 4x6. I needed to trim about an inch off the length and an inch off the width of the pad to make it fit underneath the rug perfectly. But it was not easy! I tried every kind of scissors I had in the house. A box cutter just shredded it. Finally, my guy came around with some industrial scissors (they looked like tin snips, but I don’t think that’s what they were) and his much stronger hands than mine, and he was able to make a nice, neat trim. With the right tool and the right user, the mat trims nicely with no fraying. I’m going to guess, when they show the picture of the mat being cut with regular scissors, it’d probably the thinner version and not the 1/2 inch. Still, very happy with this product!

Provides cushioning and grip
Soft rug pad that provides excellent padding below rugs to make them softer and more secure. The top of the rug pad is textured and a little rough. It's not so tough that my cat won't sit on it. The bottom is sticky and keeps the pad and rug in place. All my rugs have this rug pad underneath it including my entryway door. The 1/4 inch is a good thickness to provide some extra cushioning while keeping the rug thin enough so doors can open it. Depending on the size, the pad may need to be trimmed so it doesn't peak out beneath the rug. I find regular scissors fine for doing this. It doesn't need too much maintenance - a shake and vacuum seems to be fine for cleaning.
