Great grip, but not too annoying. Tip is NOT rough!
Normally, I don't like the classic Jazz III, becuase you have to "break" them in. They tend to be slightly rough (imo), right off the assembly line. They are also a bit slippery. These weren't like that for some reason. Super-fast and smooth, right from the get-go. Texture, is nearly perfect!! Like fine grain sand, but not TOO severe to where it's more of an irritant. These are GOOD!! Great price too!

These are my FAVORITE picks. Learning pinch harmonics? GET THESE!
I've been playing since 1990 and these are, by far, my favorite picks. I tend to have oily fingers which is a pain when playing with a pick. I was constantly fighting keeping the picks exactly where I wanted them. These picks have amazing grip and feel great in the hand. When they lose grip because of being clogged with dead skin cells and finger gunk; just use an old toothbrush and dishsoap and they are as good as new in about a minute. Another plus is these jazz picks are nice and small which will be a huge help to those of you out there trying to learn pinch/artificial harmonics. It's actually easy to accidently have them ring out with these picks if your not careful. I would recommend these picks to anyone looking to buy good picks.

Grip!
In my recent, in-depth search for the perfect guitar plectrum, I decided to try these. They are great in every way with the one exception. The grip. It's way too much for me. It made me realize just how much I adjust my grip on the pick when playing different things on the guitar. The grip on this pick works too well. Adjusting your grip in any way while playing is nearly impossible. If you never change your grip while playing and need a pick to stay put even through rigorous shredding, this is the pick for you. The bright color makes it easy to spot in a dimly lit setting, and the thickness is in my opinion perfect. Just the slightest hint of flex lets it flow through cords, but it is stiff enough to blaze through alternate picking or sweeps. The material seems to take hours and hours of abuse before showing any signs of wear, and brings out a warm, balanced tone in the strings. I hope this review helps you on your quest.

No losing the bright red.
Good grip, no slipping. 1.38 = Hard for you old schoolers.

Highly recommend
Smaller than most picks but the grip on these is insane. These picks come with grooves on the end that allows your finger to grip with ease. I do not have to worry about them slipping at all, would definitely buy again if I ever run out.

My favorite picks
In the six years I've been playing guitar, I've tried picks ranging from .4mm to 1.5mm, made of everything from Tortex to Nylon to Acetal to gift cards that I've cut up with scissors. I've tried other specialty picks, like the Davas, Star Grips, and those giant triangle ones. For me personally, nothing comes close to the Jazz III Max Grip picks. I repeat: Nothing. Comes. Close. To let you know where I'm coming from, I primarily play metal, psychedelic rock, and punk. That means I'm doing a lot of single-note picking. The grip on these picks keeps them from slipping or sliding in the slightest between my fingers, and the fine tips both allow and encourage precise note articulation. The steep angle of the tip lets the pick slide through the individual strings like a warm knife through butter, and the lack of bulk decreases the chance of hitting unwanted strings. As a result, riffs and leads come out much more cleanly and easily. I also found that the grip is a life-saver when I'm rapidly downstroking power chords, (i.e. playing literally any punk song ever written). The relentless bashing into the strings tends to shift most picks around in my hand, so after a measure or two of sixteenth notes the pick might be completely sideways. That's never been a problem with these guys. Like I said earlier, these things do not slip at all. As soon as you put one of these little bastards between your fingers, you'll know that it's not going anywhere. So yeah, I love these things. They're the bee's knees. Side note: If you decide to go to your local guitar shop to buy these, MAKE SURE THAT YOU BUY THE "MAX GRIP" VERSION! The standard Jazz III picks look almost identical, but they lack the little grip-bumps and they feel like they're made out of a completely different material... they're smooth, shiny, and, in my experience, slip all over the place. Honestly, the difference is night and day, so be sure you're getting the Max Grips. I hope I was able to accurately convey my enthusiasm for these guys. I truly believe that if just one person tries these out after having read this review, I will have made the music world a better place.

Should have used these years ago
1/3 smaller than a standard Dunlop pick. Never knew I needed this size. Feels like I have been trying to run on the track in street shoes and now I finally have the track shoes. Smaller size definitely feels like there is less tension in my pick hand. The texture grip works fantastic. Zero slip.

the grip is not for my taste. Its too rough, edgy and fatigued easily. if you're a hard picker, this may not be ideal.
