Would this work for a guinea pig?

No. These will no matter the size, hurt and even kill a guinea pig. My friends guinea pig died from a spine injury using a ball. The product page says it's not intended for Guinea pigs, ferrets or rabbbits.

Will this item be big enough for a regular hamster?

I have a dwarf hamster, it's plenty big enough for her but I honestly don't know enough about hamsters to give you a helpful answer. My girl is only the size of my palm. I probably wouldn't put any larger of an animal in that ball.. she's only in it when I clean her cage (to keep her busy) Hope this helps!!! :)

Can this connect to other sets to make a large circle or to track around a room?

Yes. We bought 4 sets to make a large loop. There are no straight pieces, so your track is a series of s's. Fun.

Guinea pig? Im looking for something

Definitely too small for a Guinea pig. And I don't think they're supposed to go in those balls anyway because of something about their feet. Try a plastic fence.
