Chum Bucket

I bought this after a friend brought one on my boat and I saw how it worked. We usually put chunked up mackerel or some other kind of bait in there. Clams work too. You have to put the work in but it works great. I use it to chum up mackerel, bluefish, and striped bass. Keeps the mackerel around the boat so you can fill up your live well and helps attract bigger fish as well. Top is easy to click into place you just need to make sure you get it clicked in. I've had it for two seasons so far and it's held up great.

As others mentioned design flaw with the cap. The reason so many people are losing their caps is because you need to “turn and click to lock”. However it is difficult to actually get the cap to click into place. Perhaps they used too much primer or whoever they are buying their pipe from has poor specs/quality control. I am a mechanic so am used to working with my hands and using “elbow grease” to get things to work. I should have a better success rate than 3/10 when trying to lock the cap in place..

Very good product. Well made. High quality materials... all around a great tool for any fisherman that chums.

So I took this out deep sea fishing with plenty of chum bait. Unfortunately my friends cancelled on me so I went out alone. This is a solid product and well made but in order to get a good chum slick you have to keep needing the chum...a lot of the chum actually comes out while you are needing.....I think this is a good product to make chum by needing...freeze it then use it. Otherwise you are constantly needing and not fishing....especially when you are fishing alone.

Great concept. Generally works, but here is my specific feedback. The construction is durable and the "plunger" is strong. There are two major problems with the design. First, the screw top is not attached to the body. If you are not perfect, like me, you occasionally may start moving the boat without remembering that you have the chum bucket hanging in the water. When this happens the top comes off and the product becomes useless. I emails the company but I never heard back. It should be redesigned with a retainer mechanism. The second design flaw is that the plunger tip is shaped like a triangle. Its sharp but It leaves a lot of bait left over because it doesn't contact all the bait to break it up. Overall great concept and would be perfect with a couple of tweaks. Not responding to customers is not good. No ability to buy a replacement plunger.

Does not work as shown in the videos, at all!

First time I used the chum buddy, top came off and sunk out of reach while in use even though it was closed securely. Contacted company twice asking about a replacement top and they don’t care enough to even respond. It’s unfortunate. I would not recommend purchasing this.
