Quality Leatherman pliers
It's a Leatherman so you're obviously going to get pretty good quality not to mention just as they said in the product description it is lightweight and very easy to carry. Although when folding or unfolding the tool or even when trying to access any of the other tools within I help but notice everything tends to move with a fair bit of resistance that I've never noticed in any other Leatherman tools that I've owned. I attempted to remedy this by applying some oil but that did not seem to make a difference so I assume that it must be an intentional sort of thing with this specific model. But that aside the resistance in no way affects the usability of the tool. Not to mention I've been consistently carrying this tool every single day since I got it. All that aside I'd definitely recommend this tool if it's something that one could find themselves using.

NOW THIS IS A LEGENDARY FILE!!!!!!!
I got to start by saying i AM OBBSEEESSED WITH MULTI TOOLS. I BASICALLY OWN THEM ALL SO TRUST ME. U GOTTA HEAR AN SEE THIS!!! LITTERALY JUST LOOK AT MY PICTURES OF THIS ABSOLUTE LEGENDARY GOD MODE OF A FILE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS AND THE LEATHERMAN REBAR HAS THE MOST AGGRESSIVE LEGENDARY FILE U WILL EVER SEE ON A MULTI TOOL!!!! IT IS LITTERALY IDENTICAL OR BETTER THAN VICTORINOX!!!! WILD!!!!!!! NOW if ONLY we can get THIS FILE AN HAVE DIAMOND COATING ON THE OTHER SIDE!?!?!? BROOOOO THAT WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!!! 1 can dream am I right??? In my opinion inless its a SATANIC TYRANNICAL KNIFE LAW that u should ignore anyways cause GOD has granted u FREEDOM as your BIRTH RIGHT. I'd recommend personally the rebar. (THE REBAR HAS MORE FEATURES AND LOCKING IMPLEMENTS NOT SLIP JOINT LIKE THE BOND). BUT the bond is prety awsome as well. U can't go wrong with either 1 CAUSE THEY BOTH HAVE THIS LEGENDARY FILE the rebar has the serrated and saw thu as a plus vs the minimalizm of the bond . Either way final conclusion it's a good buy and at an incredibly LEGENDARY price. U won't be disappointed!!! AND JUST TO SAY IT 1 MORE TIME LOL . DID I SAY OMG LOOK AT THAT LEGENDARY FILE!?!?!!?! hahahaha 🤙👍🙋♂️

Leatherman is the best
I have carried a leatherman for years, over 20, a gift from my wife. Then, I misplaced it. Couldn't decide if I really needed another one, but finally bit the bullet and bought this. There are quite a few changes from my original leatherman to this one (same model). Most I think are ok. However, it is very stiff and difficult to open and close. First time with the knife, I cut myself closing it. I am always amazed at how often I reach for it and it is really annoying how difficult it is to open and close. The value of the tool more than outweighs this little annoyance. BTW, I am on my second leather case and this one fits right at home.

Pretty basic, but fills a role.
There are better options if you only want to carry one tool/knife. But when carrying a primary knife, having a slim and lightweight multi-tool is a good option. The Bond fills that role nicely, and at a fair price. My biggest complaint is that without a saw blade, it's not a great option for hiking or camping. But in my experience, there's no such thing as the perfect multi-tool.

Finally, a worthy successor to the PST.
I got an original PST (and a mini) back in the early 90s, and it was my treasured companion through many adventures, backpacking through Europe, hiking the Northeast, and a worthy accomplice for breaking and fixing many things along the way. After 9/11, I had to stop carrying a knife on the daily, since I would inevitably lose it in the airport. I lost my mini this way, and have been a jealous guard of my PST since, keeping it in my hiking pack where it will never see an airport or a metal detector. Leatherman has come out with many models since, but none had the rugged simplicity of the PST. I got a Fuse out of necessity, and it's made in China, a few material layers thicker, and had some useless rubber handle features and extra blade locks. I started searching EBay for PST replacements in case I lost my last one, since the modernized Chinese-made versions are NOT the same as the original. The Bond IS that PST, or might as well be. Other than the missing 'Made in Oregon' stamping, it's the same rig... the same excellent pliers, the same capable blade, the badass file that eats metal. It lost the lanyard loop and gained a thumb grove for the knife blade - a reasonable trade - , it gained some rivets for the hinge, but it has the same winning form factor, the slim nose detail that makes it pocketable, as its granddaddy. I'm buying a bunch of spares to stuff in a drawer in case I lose my PST... and if I'm wrong and manage to keep it until the very end, my heirs can fight over these replacements at my wake.

Summary - My purpose for this tool was primarily to EDC pliers and the pliers are excellent, as is the overall construction and weight. Only reason why not five stars is that one of the arms is hard/tight to close, however, I expect this to wear in over time and or with use. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and expect that will be carrying it for a long time. Your intended use may be different than mine which will determine whether or not this tool is a fit for you. However, I would suggest that if your going to buy that you buy from Amazon or some other retailer where returns are easy since I have never been lucky with Leatherman quality. Case in point the sticky/hard to close arm which, I feel, will require some time to wear in. Also, an online review I seen showed loose tools in the Bond, however, all the tools in mine are properly tight. The tool, by design, has a very limited range of tools. I am ok with this since the primary purpose for my buying was to cut down on weight / duplication of tools. The Bond comes in, based on my scales, at 5.37 oz (163 gr) which is significantly lower than the Victorinox Spirit at 7.4 oz (210 gr) or the Wave, without bit sets, 8.5 oz (241 gr). I was primarily interested in the pliers and the Philips screwdriver, both of which are excellent. It is slightly heavier than the LM Kick, discontinued, 5.3 oz (152 gr) but significantly better constructed being all steel. Note, the Bond is also significantly thinner than the Spirit and Wave and given its size and weight can be easily stored in my pocket instead of in the provided belt pouch. The tool itself is nicely rounded so I don't think there is any concern about tearing your pocket. Having all the tools stored inside the tool may be an advantage for pocket carry as there is less chance of dirt getting in amongst the tools. Note, a pocket clip can be bought separately. The two tools that I was focused on were the pliers and to a lesser extent the Philips screwdriver. The pliers are similar to the old model Wave ones without the replaceable cutting edges. Due to the all steel construction of the Bond I think that the pliers in actual use will be able to take some significant abuse, similar to the Wave or Spirit. I am ok with not having the replaceable cutting edges as this is not something that I typically use. Note, I like the LM pliers over the Victorinox Spirit as the needle nose is longer. The Bond feels very good in the hand with no sharp points etc. The Philips screwdriver is good and I think I have an old LM bit kit to use with it if need be. For whatever reason they included a file instead of a saw in the tool set. Neither of these are key for my EDC use. Although, having a file is nice since it allows me to pair the tool with a mid-size SAK that has a saw. However, some may feel that a saw would have been of more use for them. Note, none of the tools are one hand accessible or accessible without opening up the tool. This may be a limiting factor for some people. However, I'm ok with this since I prefer to also EDC a folding knife and a mid size Swiss Army knife. As such I really don't need to access the tool except for the pliers. Note, I really like the quality of the Victorinox Spirit and its tool set. However, now that I have the Bond which I feel is a significantly better EDC tool for my purposes it will end up in my desk drawer. The Wave that used reside in my desk draw will now move to a tool box where its bit kit may come in handy.

First, let me say that I like Leatherman products. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have bought the Bond multitool. When I started looking for a replacement for my old Leatherman Crunch, my goal was to simplify, and I thought the Bond would fit the bill. When I received the Bond, I found that the internal finish wasn't as good as I remembered Leatherman to be. I stripped the Bond multitool down and polished the interior surfaces to make the tool deployment and opening/closing smother. On the plus side, doing this worked and getting the tool into action is now a lot easier than when I got it. On the downside, I shouldn't have had to do this. This cost a star in my rating of the Bond. A second star was lost because the Bond comes with a cheap plastic nylon sheath. I could upgrade to a classic leather sheath ($33.95) which was what my first Leatherman came with, or buy ($16.95) and install a metal pocket clip. I shouldn't have to do either.
