This book has helped my teenagers start to play the piano again. It is easy for any level to pick up and play a song that is familiar to them and that success has translated into them wanted to play more and even move back into the method books! Jon Schmidt has a way with writing music that is unique and fun.

Best sight reading book
The book itself was fantastic except for the annoying sticker that was on it in the book was sort of sticky after I took it off. This is an amazing book to help you learn how to play piano. I took piano when I was a kid and now I'm doing this as an adult and I've picked up sight reading way faster. 100% recommend this to everybody I talk to who wants to play piano. Can't afford a teacher? start with this book. Worth every penny!

okay, but not really exciting for children to play.

Frustrating placement of barcode sticker.
The product itself is fine, but the barcode sticker was placed right in the center of the front cover and in fact, covers up part of the book's title. I tried to carefully remove the sticker only to have the cover begin to tear. For the price, I expect a sticker-free cover. Disappointing.

Great book!
This is a great book for teens or adults who may have had a few years of piano as a child to review and relearn piano. The lessons are short and fun. I love Jon Schmidt and this book did not disappoint.

Jon Schmidt teaches piano
This is a book with Jon Schmidt's way of teaching piano. I have tried to get some older students interested in using it . . . but, there were no takers. It is definitely a different approach that I think would work well with artistic students, perhaps older beginners. He uses a different way of counting. If you have used any of his other books then you will be familiar with his method and also the way he "talks" with the students on the music. (: I like using all the songs included in the book.
