Love this!!!
Works great for my 5.5 Gallon tank, I actually modified it some in which then it works even better, inside the filter is a plastic basket that holds a small pouch of carbon, the basket has small holes, so I actually used the Fluval Zeo-Carb loose in there, it is big enough that nothing escapes! Works great! Then I trashed the little pre filter that comes with this, I felt it had large pores which let a lot through, and I got the Fluval Phosphate filters, and I cut them to size and put them as the pre filter, I think it makes it one of the most efficient filters I've ever had, and it SUPER QUITE I love that if I keep it just slightly above the water as it sprays from the long attachment it creates some bubbles, enough that my guppies are super happy, which is good because typically bubblers are very loud.

Great little filter for small tanks
I’ve been using this small internal filter for a few weeks in my 5 gallons tank and it does a good job. It’s compact and easy to set up, and doesn’t take up too much space inside my aquarium. The flow is gentle enough for my fishes but still keeps the water moving and super clear. It runs pretty quietly too, which is a big plus, but it is not completely silent either. The only thing to note is that you’ll need to clean the sponge fairly often since it’s small, but that’s expected with a filter this size. Overall, it’s a reliable little filter for small tanks. Great value for money.

Flow control would have made it even better……
It works as filter should. But it would have been even better if it had flow control. I planned on using 2 of the 5-10 gallon size for my 20 Gallon Long tank. Bought 1 to try it and one unit was already too strong for my tank, I had to wrap the spray bar with some filter foam so as not to create too much movement in the water. I wish Nicrew would put a flow control system on it- I’d buy more of them.

Powerful aquarium filter at a budget price!
GREAT little filter! I have the 5-10 gallon unit in a 2.5 gallon tank. Because its acrylic (not glass) and there is no real stand for my setup, it seemed quite loud. I put some rubber pads under my aquarium and it deadened the noise significantly. That was strictly a problem with MY SETUP, not the pump! Water is clean and the fish are probably enjoying the jet of water in their tank, probably makes it feel like they're in an actual stream!

Works
It’s a neat little filter but makes a humming noise, louder than others.

Works great for keeping minnows alive!
I live in Minnesota and use crappie minnows and fatheads for fishing. As the cost for bait continues to increase I don’t want to dump them out after fishing for the day. I tried an aerator only but noticed a lot of scum on the water after a couple days and had to frequently change water. This inexpensive pump seems to be perfect. The filter cleans the water and it would probably aerate enough just on its own. I still use my cheap aquarium aerator at the same time. The suction cup mount works great on a black 5 gallon bucket..Cheap and has worked very well for the past couple weeks. If you want to keep bait for a week or more I think you need to change the water every day or use something like this with a filter.

Small, Quiet, Yet Surprisingly powerful
I recently purchased the filter for my 10-gallon aquarium, and after a few weeks of use, I feel compelled to share my thoughts on this compact device. As someone who values both functionality and tranquility in my fishkeeping experience, I've found this filter to be a mixed bag of brilliance and overpowering performance. **Pros:** 1. **Compact Design**: The size of this filter is truly noteworthy. It fits seamlessly behind my aquarium decor, allowing for unobstructed views of my aquatic inhabitants. 2. **Whisper-Quiet Operation**: One of the standout features of this filter is its near-silent operation. I often forget it’s even running, which is fantastic since it’s in my main living room. However, if the bubblers cap is removed It will make noises so I wouldn’t recommend doing that. 3. **Easy Installation and Maintenance**: Setting up the filter was a breeze. The instructions were clear, and it took no time to have it up and running. Cleaning and changing the filter is straightforward, which is essential for someone with a busy schedule. **Cons:** 1. **Too Powerful for Small Tanks**: While the filter’s strength may be beneficial for larger aquariums, I found it to be a bit too powerful for anything under a 10-gallon setup. The water flow is strong enough that it creates a significant current, which can be distressing for smaller fish and plants. I've had to adjust the outflow angle to try to minimize the turbulence, but it still feels excessive in some parts of the tank. 2. **Limited Flow Control**: I wish there were a more effective way to regulate the flow rate. The filter operates at one speed, which can be overwhelming in a small tank that needs gentler filtration. Overall, the filter is a fantastic choice for those who need a small and quiet filtration solution, but potential buyers should be mindful of its potency. If you're using it in a larger aquarium or are keeping more robust species that can handle higher flow, this filter might be a perfect fit. For those with delicate fish or plants, I recommend considering whether the strong current can be adequately mitigated before making this purchase. Despite its power, I’m still pleased with my overall experience and will be keeping it in my setup for now.

Nice little filter/pump
Bought for a 5 gallon hospital tank. Like the design, simple and easy to install & maintain. Stopped working after about a week. Customer service suggested I clean it. Wasn’t really dirty but it started working again after I reassembled it.

I bought this filter in June 2025, and this filter works fantastic so far for my 5 gallon betta tank (I got the mini filter 3.5w)! The tank stays very clean and oxygenized without stressing my betta out, since the waterfall-like option gives a gentle, not overly disruptive water flow that I can adjust the position as needed. My old filter that came with the tank I found was too stressful and my late betta had a hard time swimming through, but my current betta seems to swim around this one with ease. I do have the water flow streaming onto a rock which helps too (see pic). It's very easy to set up as you just put it together and plug it in, no additional pumps required. Overall, this filter is way cheaper than my local pet stores and works much better without being overpowering for my betta. If it were to break, I would definitely buy this again.

I bought every adaptor I could find and still cannot plug it in properly. Very annoyed that it even needs an adapter in the first place. Basically unusable.

Super fast delivery. Awesome price. Almost want to get another one, just as a back-up. Only complaint, as silly as it sounds; It's almost a little too powerful. Didn't see a dial or adjustment knob. Thing is rad.

I've had the Magi200, the smallest model rated for 5-10 gallons for about 3 weeks now. My first impression of this filter is that it feels sturdy but cheap (not really a negative since you wont be touching it a lot). The flow rate is a tad too strong for my 8 gallon tank, to address this problem I stuffed a layer of poly-fil between the carbon cartridge and included stock sponge. Pros: -Low price point -Customizable (different outflow pieces, option to add/remove desired filter media) -Ease of use design -Not as chunky as other filters (easy to hide) -Low to no noise if set up correctly Cons: -Magi200 does not have a method to control flow with the spray bar attachment -Material feels cheap (connection of parts feels very stiff) -Occasionally can hear the impeller, fixed with just a unplug and plug of device (probably trapped air?) I bought this filter on a whim due to its price and features, overall I think it's a great budget filter and can be used in many versatile ways, If I could ask for an improvement to this product It would be to make the flow adjustable like the Elite underwater mini filter. EDIT: April 14th, 2020 One of my otocinclus got caught on the back of the filter where there are two (intake?) holes that lead to the pump, be careful if you have small inhabitants like shrimp and fry. I've stuffed it with some sponge to prevent another accident, poor lil guy lost an eye )
