Amy Winehouse: Beyond Black

Beautiful book!

Written by her close friend, this book is insightful, colourful and interesting. It is very well made and put together and is one of my favourtie books. A lovely tribute to Amy.

Beautiful photographs and some wonderful anecdotes, both funny and moving, written by people who really knew Amy Winehouse or were influenced by her. Everyone is familiar with the tragic story of her battle with addictions as her life unravelled and much has been (badly) written about this aspect of her character. But ten years after her death, this is an authoritative and affectionate acknowledgement of Amy's life and monumental achievement. I was captivated by this book and it's one I will return to time and time again.

I haven't read through this book yet, but it is so beautifully curated and serves as a wonderful time capsule of all things Amy. I attended the amazing exhibition about her at the Design Museum which prompted me to buy this book and I don't regret it, it truly is a thing of beauty. Such a tragic story and I am gutted that I only appreciated her true genius and beautiful soul after her passing.

Beautiful book, a must have.

If you’re a Fan of Amy like I am , you will love love this book. It’s been put together so well, its like opening a scrap book that Amy would of kept herself, if that makes any sense. You don’t need to read chronological like a normal biographical book. I loved her style so I found this so fascinating. The photos are amazing as well as quotes from people and the researched content is just outstanding. Well done Naomi Parry what a wonderful way of remembering Amy.

My daughter has grown an obsession for Amy Winehouse so this was the perfect present for Xmas for her and she is absolutely delighted

Ein wunderbares Buch, in dem der Mensch und die Künstlerin im Vordergrund stehen, geschrieben von Naomi Parry, der langjährigen Stylistin und Freundin von Amy. Tolle Fotos und diverse Ziate und Beiträge von Menschen die Amy nahe standen. Auf Klatschgeschichten und oberflächlichen Beschreibungen Ihres Absturzes wird gänzlich verzichtet. So entsteht ein intimes Buch, dass Amy als kreative, witzige und schlagfertige Ausnahmekünstlerin zeigt und viele mehr Aussagekraft hat, als so manche Biografie. Eine Hommage an das kreative Erbe der Sängerin. Wer des Englischen einigermaßen mächtig ist, sollte sich auf jeden Fall die Originalausgabe gönnen.

I bought this book because a friend of mine had one in his home. When I received it it was in perfect condition and the pictures inside are absolutely beautiful. This was a great purchase!
