Convert It!: A simple step-by-step guide for converting any classic car into an electric vehicle.

It is a good overview and maybe even a step by step guide to get started with
It is what I had hoped for. Not too deep in the technical but enough to educate me. Will know what questions to ask when I want to more details. Too often books like this dive deeper than I want to go to make the book thicker. Feel like I know enough not to make my first try mistakes which is great.

Great book - highly recommend if you’re looking to get started in EV car conversion
I have been searching online trying to find more information about converting my classic car to electric and could only find bits and pieces of information. This book is comprehensive on how to convert a classic car to electric and a great guide for a novice like myself.Thank you for writing this book!

Covers some basic concepts but don’t expect a detailed how to
This book can be read cover to cover in a few hours. It is short easy reading and covers some of the basics. The content would have been better for a few magazine articles rather than a 77 page book. It probably could have been printed without such large margins and single spaced to bring it down to 25 pages or so. I am disappointed by the lack of more detailed information but it gave me some leads as to where to go next. Armed with these rudimentary definitions and concepts, I can now search for manufactures and kit suppliers on the net to get up to date information and start the research.

GREAT OVERVIEW AND REFFERENCES
This book is a great first read for anybody interested in converting to all electric car. Get a stick shift car off Craigslist with “needs new motor” and order motor/batteries/controller. It’s not a cheap project but worth it.

Decent book, if you were converting a car 5-8 years ago (2012-2015)
I was pretty disappointed with this book. I read it a few times just in case I missed something. While it was clearly a work of passion by the author, unfortunately, I found the materials to be pretty basic and out of date. A lot of the material talks about converting a car with "overgrown" forklift motors. What I would have appreciated would be more details about newer conversions which rely on OEM components (like the Tesla LDU and LEAF motors) and aftermarket inverters/BMS/control systems. NONE of that is there. I think there were some obsolete references to lead acid battery based conversions as well which is absolutely silly when LEAF/Tesla/new-mfg batteries and modules are now available. The basics are there but you can get that level of detail from reading a few peoples build logs. Save yourself the $8-13.

We’ll written, just the right amount of technical.
We’ll written with a focus on creating a vehicle you actually like and want to drive. Technical but not over the top. An inexpensive read with good info.

Practical starting information.
The author writes in a very straight forward style that I like. This little manual is a great starting point for many that might be considering an EV conversion project. It's also a bit of a warning for people who haven't a lot of experience with DIU projects... they are always much more work and expense (especially the batteries) than expected. His costs (about $18k USD?) have to be put into perspective compared to fitting a relatively up-to-date ICE engine in the vehicle. Which is better value in the short run - in the long run?His advice in keeping a standard transmission seems wise.Overall, this is a good resource.

good basic explanation
good basic explanation of parts and prep and cost/time needed using words i understand, convinced me to dispose of the vehicle I was thinking of converting and spend the money on another gas powered instead

A good read.
A story of how he did his conversion and the info he collected while doing it. It is a current book, publish date 2021, but as he states many times in the book technology will change and there may be a better way in the future.

Good overview of procedures
Well written text, however probably needs updated for current available technology

Great subject knowledge
I am not a novice, and still learned from this book, some good basic tips and obvious points that get lost in this modification area.
