Quality CPU cooler
Your CPU is so important, not only for keeping the CPU cool and prolonging it's life, but for having a nice quiet computer too. I love these bequiet! Pure Rock 2 coolers, I have them in both my PCs which run an i7-12700k and a i5-9600k I see typical temps when working of 29-45'C. They are sooo quiet and look awesome, especially when paired with an LED fan. Value for money is good, this is a quality product with good instructions, various brackets and mounts for different CPUs and pre-applied thermal paste so you don't need to buy any! Mounting was easy, even with the motherboard in place. The fans can run nice and slow giving you a very quiet PC.

Does what it says on the tin
I have an aging PC but its a PC that suits my needs. I have had it for six years from new, and the only issue I have noticed recently is the CPU temps while at normal general usage, are fine but if I do something that is quite intensive like converting videos, my temps spike to 100 degrees. To give an idea of specs, it is an Asus H110-R micro ATX mother board with an Intel i7 770 cpu and 32gb of ram. I have not done much with it over the years except add ram (it originally had one 8gb stick and now has two 16gb sticks) and add in a 2.5gb network card. The cooler that came with it was your basic run of the mill stock cooler. The CPU under general use was running around 45 to 46 degrees and as I say, 100 degrees under heavy load, which as anyone will know is not great. As I cannot upgrade my whole PC right now, I have decided to do what I can to extend its life. The cooler was an obvious choice. I have heard good things about Be Quiet coolers, so thought I would go with this one. Maybe it is overkill, I don't know, but I felt it was a fair price and has fittings for both Intel and AMD boards. I did watch a video on youtube beforehand to see how easy or hard it would be to fit, and I can only guess that there has been some revisions to its design as it was slightly different in a few places. But anyway, the instructions sheet that comes with it is quite useful, although it does get a little confusing with the screws as its not exactly 100% clear which to use sometimes. As you can expect with a lot of these kind of things, fitting it can be fiddly in places due to space in your rig and while fitting the bracket you have to mess about with both sides of the board while fitting the screws etc. Fine if you have dainty fingers, and not huge sausage fingers like me. There was a slight issue with screwing the actual cooler to the brackets, but after a bit of a faff I finally got that sorted as well. Probably the most awkward part was the clips that attach the fan to the main body of the cooler. But even that really wasnt that difficult and I could have probably made things easier by removing the ram giving myself more room. The cooler comes with one fan which you can fit either side of the main body, and has arrow markings on it to show which direction the fan spins and the direction of the air . You can fit a second fan if you feel like buying one and attaching it to the opposite side and the kit does come with a spare set of clips to attach it. This will obviously be dependant on whether your board will allow it as fans need power. So after a rather sweaty annoying session fitting the cooler it was time to test the PC out, and amazingly it all booted up with no issues and is currently running perfectly as I am typing this review with said PC. On general usage I am currently getting around 10 degrees less than before, and while doing a video conversion it actually only went up to 75 degrees, which is much better. Another thing that is cool with this cooler is it comes with already pre-applied thermal paste. Of course if you are not happy with that you are free to use your own, but if you don't mind using what is supplied it means it works straight out of the box without the need of spending money on thermal paste on top of the price of the cooler. Very happy with my purchase and fingers crossed it can help my PC last a few years longer now. Oh, and this will be very dependant on your rig, but you may need to adjust your fan speeds in the bios as sometimes these things default to full speed, which really is not necessary on most rigs. And yes, it is very quiet. Just as an update in June 2025 during a hearwave. Fan and PC are still doing very well, maintaining similar temps. Even under load with high ambient temps, it still is not going above 75 degrees. Well worth the money.

A tad fiddly to install, but 100% worth the effort for the cooling and silence.
Okay, first the bad... it is a bit fiddly to install, not hard, but just fiddly. Now the good... wow.... this thing is whisper quiet. More good, using StressMyPC with the aggressive CPU set on so CPU load was at 100%, it dropped the maximum temperature of my CPU by 19 degrees C from the stock AMD cooler setup - and kept it there for half an hour with no problem and soooo quiet... And dropped it by 17% at idle over the stock CPU. In short, be prepared to fiddle a bit to get it installed, but I would 100% say worth the effort.

Reduces noise a ton
I had the AMD Stock Cooler for my cpu and the noise was too loud for me and made a rrrr sound so I decided to buy a new Cooler, (I recently built my pc). The Bequiet Cooler Pure Rock 2 is really good and makes way less sound, wearing headphones and playing I can't hear it or wearing headphones in general. When I put my PC on silent mode with the fan speed set to 20% and cpu underclocked it is slient. Putting it under normal load with my Ryzen 5 3600 and the fan is around 30-40% which temps for me being 48-55 degress and when it spikes to 59 it goes to 50% fan speed. The fan is very slient, it can still be heard when under the normal settings but it is very slient and not annoying and is a big improvement over my amd stock cooler reducing temps by 15-20 degrees. I'd give the go ahead if you are not overclocking and not using a 8 core cpu. You may want to look this cooler online and see other peoples opinion as this was just my experience. Also the mounting the cpu fan was a bit tough but and requires a bit of force to put on but its fine.

It's like I've gone deaf after changing my old one for this new fan
It was a bit fiddly to install, it may have been easier if I had taken the motherboard out from the case, but that seemed like far too much hassle having to disconnect and remove all components. BUT, this is the best purchase I have made for my pc in years! I do a fair bit of video editing etc. and my old fan was so loud it sounded like my px was going to take off. This new fan is quieter when the cpu is running flat out at 100% than my old one was when the cpu was idling. It's brilliant. I can't stress this enough, if you have a loud fan and are looking to replace it, get this one! great price too, considering how much some of the water cooler ones cost.

Cool & Quiet
Does exactly what it says on the tin. I needed a cooler that could be put into an already built system as i was replacing the stock fan for AMD this did the trick nicely. Installation was relativity quick and completely hassle free. results are much better than i expected, with a name like Be Quiet! i expected quiet. But this product is absolutely silent even when i push my CPU hard. Makes a really nice change from the horrible wurring i was getting from the stock AMD. And the temps are great even after overclocking temps before with stock AMD : 45C idle. 70C load. temps now with Be Quiet! pure rock 2 black +overclock : 40C idle 55C Load. could be better but in this price range i can't imagine getting much better excellent cooler for <£50.

Cooling my Ryzen 5700X with this and it does a great job. Rarely over 70C when I play games, and also very quiet. A fitting upgrade to the Wraith Prism I used before, which was both loud and had my CPU creeping up towards 80C in some cases.

Article conforme à la description et de bonne qualité. Seul problème, le ventilateur est un peu difficile à fixer au radiateur avec les attaches fournies (un meilleur système de fixation serait une nette amélioration). Sinon le refroidissement est bon et sans être bruyant.

The Be Quiet! Pure Rock 2 CPU Cooler is a great little cooler. I had it connected up to a AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800X3D. Running temperature was 33 celsius. Ran a burn in test and it handled it easily with temps only getting to 81 celsius

Using this to cool my 5600X and it's a really good replacement for the Wraith Stealth cooler. It's both cheaper and smaller than the Hyper 212 with almost the same performance. I wouldn't want to use it on a 5950X or a highly overclocked system but my 65w 5600X is well within it's capabilities and it doesn't come close to throttling at full load. With the Wraith Stealth cooler the processor would throttle slightly. Runs very quietly even under load. MUCH quieter than the Wraith Stealth. Very easy to mount and it comes with the AM4 mounting hardware pre-installed. Highly recommended.
