U-V-C Quartz Light Bulb 25W U-V-C Lamp 110 Volt E26/E27 253.7nm (Ozone Free)

I needed to disinfect a built in 50 gallon fresh water tank in a sail boat so I lowered this lamp into the tank on an extension cord and let it run for a while. Seem to have helped to freshen it up and kill the mold on the tank walls. Works great to freshen the air in my upstairs bathroom. I just screwed it into the ceiling light fixture and turnd it on. Starts off a little dim but get very bright after it warms up which is normal for this type of lamp. It is well made, it does make a small amount of ozone but that also is good to freshen and disinfect and expected.

I wanted to start off by letting everyone know that this is a REAL UVC bulb. You don't need to buy fancy reactive cards, expensive light meters, or any of that if you want to check if it works. Take a piece of electrical tape and wrap it around a banana, then put the banana under the light and come back in 30 minutes. Peel off the tape and you'll see the banana has tanlines. (did i really just say that?). UVB or UVA will not do this to a banana, nor will the sun... at least not as fast as this bulb will give it a "tan". Afterward, the Banana is perfectly fine to eat. Don't waste food.My one complaint is the bulb should definitely come with some big warning labels. These bulbs can do serious damage to your eyes and skin. The light is far more damaging than the UVB found in tanning booths and as little as 10 seconds exposure to your eyes can cause serious damage to them. NEVER turn the bulb on while you are looking at it or even in the same room. I set the bulb up where its to be used with an extension cord which gets plugged in not in the same room. .

Light came in working fine. I can tell it's UVC because of the byproduct odor that it makes.The odor can be burnt or smell a bit like sulfur/mercaptan. This is due to the cysteinefrom the dust being broken down to an odorous sulfur containing compound that is noticable, which it will dissipate fairly quickly once you turn it off.So far I'm happy. If it lasts 3 months of on/off use I'll be very happy.Update: I thought I could go in and out the room and turn off the lamp. I did this several times in different rooms one day and burned my eyes, felt it the next day. I even tried not looking at it but the light was near the switch.Do not, I repeat, do not go into the room, even if Its a couple of seconds unless you have UV protecting eyewear or some sort of remote light control.Even a few moments can cause some damage, you will feel it the next day, light sensitivity will be bad and your vision will be hazy.Its been a day and I don't know how long it will take to recover.

I had mold or something growing on shelves and surfaces in my tool shed. After running this light for just 90 minutes in there, the odor of the mold or mildew is totally gone. I wiped down the surfaces and continue to run the light for just an hour a day and there's no mold or mildew odor and nothing is growing back. I'm very pleased.

It is very reliable and value for money because there was a ~40% discount when I purchased it. I ordered two and one of them is defective, but I got a replacement once I reported the problem to Amazon

used this to 'air out' two large cabins and a closet after a wet winter. killed every mold and mildew in sight, and the ozone knocked down any smells .. including, surprisingly, the smell of an old fire. highly recommended

Aside from producing alot of ozone the bulb works as intended. As such I can only recommend this for areas that can be isolated from living spaces and ventilated to outdoors. Operable product misleading labeling.

Used in several area of my home. I am no expert or of have testing equipment but I do smell the ozone and feel it is a legit bulb.

This bulb creates ozone which kills microbes and insects. It requires only electricity to work. But all safety precautions must be observed to prevent skin and eye damage. Used properly, this lamp disinfects rooms and kills insect pests. But plants, people, and pets MUST be removed from the room to be disinfected. Ozone leaves no residue so it's safe to enter a room an hour after the lamp has been turned off. I used it in my stuffy basement and it certainly cleared out the bad odor. I recommend this light for those who want to disinfect areas without using harsh chemicals. And pest control officers are now discovering the utility of ozone. The only thing I hate is that these lights are currently made only in China. America should be manufacturing these green germicidal lights.

And it can fry your eyes in seconds. Never look at the light, not even with protection glasses

Had a good one for 2 YEARS and it died so got THIS ONE. No good - zero ozone production. My old one smelled of ozone after a single SECOND being on, this one ran for 2 hours and NADA!Tried to speak with CS and guy just told me he sold "over 70" and never heard that before, like 70 units is a lot to be selling as a sample-size to establish quality. 1/70 defects is pretty crappy for a production line.
