Amazing!
I was refinishing a table, and being a complete novice I overestimated the thickness of the veneer on top and blew right through it 😫I still wanted the wood look, and after some research I decided to give this tool a shot. I painted the base with chalk paint in a very light cream, then used a oil-based stain to quickly paint on "plank by plank" and skimmed the graining tool along before painting on the next plank. It worked beautifully and my table has the nice beachy look I was going for!

Worked as described!
My door looks great! You wouldn't know it wasn't a wood door. So much cheaper than buying a wood door, lol. Very much worth its weight in gold!

Poor Quality item and NOT FREE Return!
Compared to another more popular product, this is poor quality. You have to put it together to use it and it is awkward to use. I had also purchased a tool set and planned to return this item before opening it. NOT free return. Overpriced shipping cost to return the item. Just be aware that it is not a free return like most Amazon items.

Hard to find
Was so hard to find one of these, so I'm glad there was one on here. Home Depot and Lowe's don't sell them in-store anymore.Seems pretty sturdy, though it's a bit hard to get the hang of.

This tool is awesome. It's made a huge difference in my home. I tried other ones Not ZAR and they suck, cuz the plastic that makes the graining is way to hard. Wish ZAR would make a wider one 5 to 6 inch would b nice. Use a thick stain like gel stain or one hour dry stain

WOW
My husband and I wanted to install new doors and contemplated on price we knew we wanted the look of a wood door but not a wood door! this was the perfect solution it works GREAT. it took some tries but we learned the hard way when using this on a steal door use ZAR Stain. Not any other Stain (We had to re prime twice cuz we tried others first) other wise its a wonderful tool. people cant tell the difference!

I tried using this several times. It didn’t give me the grain effects

Good product
Great value. Wanted to match our front door with the old beat up white garage doors. Coat of paint, some stain, and this wood grain tool and we have brand new looking wood doors to match our decor.
