The only reason why I decided to buy an SDS Max was to drive some ground rods into the ground. It drives 5/8in rods in un-rocky ground in less than a minute. Using a 8AH battery I was able to drive 3.5 rods before the battery died. I probably could've gotten more rods in if I didn't waste the battery on a failed attempt in rocky soil. So if you drive a lot of rods like I do this does great. However, I would recommend the GXS18V-17N17 starter pack so you get the turbo charger and the 12AH battery if you have a lot of rods to drive.

All the boxes were opened, Bosch sticker ripped meaning package wasn’t sealed. It’s suppose to be brand new, for all I know it could be refurbished and labeled as “new”.
