Gold Leaf is magic.
God Leaf did a great job. I almost threw out my pair of front door lantern lights that after some 20 years, the bronze frame that supported the 5 sided glass, became all rusty and pitted. I could not even clean the brass. One touch of Gold Leaf and voila!! just like new or better. I searched all over Gold Leaf and finally found it in seconds on AMAZON. Thanks

Mixed results.
As a maker, I got this to use on a couple of items around the house. I like the gold finish trend. I also ordered Plaid:Craft - Martha Stewart Metallic Acrylic Craft Paint 2 Ounces in Gold.I used this on a picture frame, which I made the mistake of sanding first to prep it. This paint, as other reviewers have noted, is super toxic - use a foam brush and ventilate! - and don't prep your surface by sanding! The paint lays a thin coat, which is translucent and gives a gold finish. It didn't bead up for me on the places where the sandpaper didn't touch, but the gouges from the sandpaper are still visible on my project. The paint bottle advises against a second coat, lest you pull up the first one.The coverage was decent, and with one coat, there are no places where the original color of the frame, which was silver, shows through. A few days later when my Martha Stewart gold paint arrived, I found for my needs, the Martha Stewart paint gave me the look I was going for without the toxicity and trouble. If you are experienced with this type of paint and have a good place to use it, it might be worth it. For me, I probably won't come back to it when I can get a richer (but less delicate) coverage and look for less money, and more living brain cells.

Love these paints.
Best paint for gilding. Goes on smooth and full coverage of color first time. No waiting till it drys for a second coat.

love gold leaf paint
I am a gold leafer. Use it to change frames and they look new. It's great for touch ups of anything. Strong smell and wipe clean before you close it up or you will have a heckuva time opening it again.

More like liquid gold powder
More like liquid gold powder. Gives a nice look to whatever you put it on for sure, but looks like paint tbh

Sheffield is 5 stars

Very thin.
This product requires several coats to produce a usable finish despite the instructions saying to avoid re coating. Felt like leaving the lid off for a few hours to let it thicken up by evaporating the thinner.
