This is a nice bag first of all. Solid. Quality materials. Has a lot of room. I have 3 handguns in there plus ammo plus magazines plus ear muffs plus other items needed. Have compared this to other range bags and this one definitely measures-up in every way. Can’t go wrong with this range bag!

Purchased to put my AR 15 ammo and clips in when going to range plenty of room for clips safely glasses ear protection ect. All in all it’s a good product.

So, the two different versions are different in size. The "Recruit" version is smaller. I think the other would be way too large. The bag is big enough for me to put all the ammo I will be using for a typical range outing and a few handguns, but isn't so large that it looks like I'm moving into the gun range. So I think the size is about perfect. It has a sturdy shoulder strap with very sturdy clips. Not plastic and not the small flimsy tin metal ones either. Really large sturdy steel clips. The bag has side pockets on the outside and two side compartments on the inside compartment along with a large compartment on the back and two medium size compartments on the front.Here is where I think some things can be improved. firstly, PATCHES! Come on S&W, get with the times! You have to have the velcro panel in the front and maybe even the sides so we can plaster morale patches all over it! This is probably the biggest let down! There are other range bags that have places for patches, but then they are either way too small or don't have useful compartments.Secondly, you guys should have at least one moveable divider for the main compartment. So if you want to bring along maybe a spray can of Rem Oil or a bottle of militec with you to the range, you can section it off so it doesn't tip over while you're carrying it.It would easily be a 5-star bag with those changes. As it is now, I would say a solid 4/5 for how well it's built and for the perfect range bag size.

Perfect range bag

This bag has a lot of pockets and space. It was actually larger than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. It easily handles my two handguns (in their own soft case), ammo, cleaning kit, extra magazines, ear protection, eye protection, holsters, and more. The bag seems sturdy and well built. Love the S&W embroidered logo. Exactly what I was looking for.
