Algebra: A Complete Introduction: The Easy Way to Learn Algebra (Teach Yourself)

I brought the book to help my grandson with his class. The book helped me to renew my understanding of the subject and understand what I had forgotten. Now when he gets home I'll findout his comprehension and what he needs to know inorder to succeed in his studies.

Well written, easy to understand. It's been about 17 years since I last did bonafide algebra, and this book is helping me tremendously.

Okay, you definitely need prior knowledge in algebra to understand this book even though it says you don’t. Some of the topics like graphing are confusing and barely explained with awful answers to the practice questions with no step by step explanations. Some other problems here and there are confusing with no explanations and even a few seemingly incorrect answers or answers with different conversion factors than the problems and no explanations as to why. Overall it’s a decent refresher if you’ve done college algebra or recently graduated high school and have an advanced AI to help you understand questions they don’t explain.

Algebra is what I consider the pivotal work of math we all need not only academically but also to navigate through the world. Its utility is not only in terms of equations and calculations, we can expect that Algebra conveys many useful concepts, and if one is patient enough, can be fun or somewhat enjoyable. I have been referring to this intro book off and on recently, have found it to be more challenging than expected, and free from errror. This is high praise for any book today, as many writers and editors, in a rush, tend to sloppiness.

Bought a copy of this book in "Used-Very Good" condition, however when I recieved the book both the front and back covers have sticker glue from peeled off stickers on them that make the book very annoying to handle and cause glue to get on your hands after using it. The content of this book is great and I rate the book 5 stars, however I am leaving 3 stars for the misleading condition if you order it used.

You can do much better with old books written by Isidore Dressler and published by AMSCO
