This chair is awesome! I have used many different ZG chairs over the years from inexpensive to pricey. This one is about low-mid price wise, but it is built well & sturdy like a lot of the pricier ones I have used. At the time we bought there was only one review so I definitely had some hesitation. I was having surgery & needed something to be able to sleep sitting up in that would be comfy. We don’t have a recliner in our place so my first thought was to get a ZG chair, but then I was concerned about flipping/swinging back or forward that happens in ZG chairs – definitely not something you want when healing from surgery. Was happy when I saw this listing – I’ve never seen a ZG chair with locking capability – this chair had two sections that locked. The feet can go up & lock while you’re still in sitting position (perfect for what I needed to sleep sitting up) & then the back rest locks as well once you have it in position you want (perfect again as I didn’t want the worry of flinging backwards or forwards). Was a bit hesitant to by as I didn’t know if these features would be done cheaply or not & was scared about the locks not working or holding well, also with only having one review I realized it was a bit of a gamble, but there weren’t any other ZG with locking features so I ordered & kept my fingers crossed. It’s been about 1.5 weeks after surgery & this chair got me through perfectly! I’ve been in this chair pretty much round the clock during this time & it’s been great. Chair is sturdy & well made. Material is lightweight but very tough, stitching is strong & uniform & the frame is built like a tank although not too heavy to pack around. I’m 5’6” & smaller frame & for me it’s quite roomy so I haven’t felt “stuck in a chair” sitting in it all this time, there’s lots of wiggle room, I can shift positions & even sit cross legged & there’s lots of room for blankets, pillows etc. to make things really cozy. (Side note – if you plan to use it for something like this where you’ll be sitting upright for a longer period do yourself a favor & make sure to put a cushion under your butt! or get one of those long full length cushions designed for ZG chairs. ZG chairs are really not meant to sit in straight upright for long periods of time, they’re meant to lounge back in so if you’re using it for sitting straight up for longer periods of time, get some padding in place for your caboose!) Other than a sore backside (not the chair’s fault as it’s not intended for use as I was using it, was my fault for forgetting to pad a chair that doesn’t have seat cushioning) I’ve had no other issues – my back & neck have been absolutely comfy this entire 1.5 weeks - I haven’t had any discomfort issues at all from sitting & sleeping upright in this chair, I’ve been super, super comfy. My initial concern was how well the locks held. The arm lever that locks the feet coming up is strong & sturdy. The back rest has 2 small plastic rings sitting under each arm rest that you pull to lock into place & those are quite sturdy too. I think the foot lever can probably take a good beating, with the rings to lock the back rest I’d say to go gentle on those as they’re made of a bit softer plastic, but I think if you’re careful & not wrench on them they should last. I think the chair will outlast the lock components (chair is built like a tank), but if you go easy on the lever & rings you should get a good life out of those too. Both locking mechanisms are much better quality than I was expecting. I had no concern after my surgery of any of the locks popping/not holding & me having an issue of getting flung forwards or backwards – that alone caused me to have much peace of mind as I could just relax after surgery & not think about where I was laying & if my chair was going to launch me anywhere :) I know this is probably not the standard us for a ZG chair, but if this chair can handle someone in it almost round the clock sitting & sleeping in it for a 1.5 weeks recovering from surgery & be both comfy & sturdy, it can definitely handle someone lounging on their deck with some cold ones in their hand :) Before my surgery we tested it out for proper use as a ZG chair & it’s awesome. When you lean back all the way in “chill mode” it really is a well made ZG chair & so comfortable. I am so looking forward to when I’m recovered & can start to use this as an actual ZG chair & get to use it for chilling out & lounging it in – perfect reading & relaxing chair. Was a lifesaver for surgery recovery & is so darn comfy when used in regular ZG lounge mode that I have lots of good comfy lounging to look forward too! 5 Stars all around – only 2 things I would say are go easy on the foot lever & the back rest locking rings (not because they’re cheap, but so you get longer life out of them) & if you want to get one of those universal ZG attachable trays they sell here on Amazon for it I have heart breaking news – because of the lever lock for the foot section there’s an additional section of frame over the area where you’d usually attach one of those ZG trays. Pretty much those universal trays that work with almost any ZG chair out there won’t work with this. Awesome chair, I’ve been having an amazing recovery because of it & lots of good lounging to look forward too. When it’s time to get ZG chairs for our deck we’ll get 2 more of these no question about it & next time we’re needing chairs for the park etc. we’ll be sure to check out what other chairs this company has. Thanks GCI you solved the issues of me having a comfy place to recover in after surgery & also made a darn good “chill out chair” to look forward too!

This is my first zero gravity chair. I was hesitant because I’ve sat in them before and did not like them. I have severe back knee and shoulder problems. We go to the river a lot and spend a week at a lake once a year. Plus I like to sit outside. I chose this chair because it’s heavy duty extra large. I’m a tall big girl. AND because the foot rest can be operated independently of the back. PRO: 1. Super fast shipping. Two days 2. Is exactly as described. Sturdy. Locks are easy to operate 3. Foot rest is easily adjusted independently of the back 4. Can be set in zero gravity mode and changes modes easily 5. I thought I’d need a cushion. I don’t. Very comfy 6. Easy to fold to carry and store Cons 1. No tray. I wish there was one 2. The little bag for drinks and phone is too far back. Maybe you can adjust placement but I haven’t figured out how if you can 3. A little heavy to carry for some people. I don’t. My son moves it for me. None of these are enough to keep me from buying another or rating 5 stars. I love it. Highly recommend This is my honest review I paid for this chair and am not affiliated with the company at all.

I had previously purchased a comfortable zero gravity chair, but it lacked the position of legs/feet being elevated while back/shoulders were mostly upright. When I saw this GCI chair I knew I had to have it. It is very robust, sturdy and yet easy to lift and move around. It feels very secure when one is sitting in it. The only color that was available, however, was black. But it is well worth it to have a comfortable outdoor chair which elevates my legs/feet and also allows my trunk/arms/head to be upright so that I can read!

If it weren’t tacky I think I would have these in my living room. They are very comfortable for a long day camping or if you are my family we bought it for an airshow. The reclining ability let me watch the whole show without straining my neck. They are not light for carrying around but they do fold up very easily for transport in a wagon. They are also great quality so definitely worth the money.

Great reclining chair. A bit on the heavy and awkward side but very sturdy camp chair for relaxing. Nylon mesh ventilates well and drys fast. Delivered in a box, fully assembled and no damage or structural issues. Exactly what I was looking for.
