Impressive heavy duty switch
I have tried several disconnect switches, but this one is really impressive, all metal, well made

Works for my semi truck
If you have a semi truck with an automatic transmission, like me you may have experienced issues with the transmission getting confused and going into fault. After a while I decided to make it easier than disconnecting the battery every time and installed this cut-off switch. When I get a trans fault, hop out, reach for the cut-off and reset the ecm. I was concerned about the starting amperage being on a 4 battery Cummins truck but the truck starts as easy as without it. No issues at all. I recommend using this on a semi truck.

Excellent switch.
I purchased this switch because I was using a plastic switch that claimed to be rated the same as this one. That plastic switch had trouble with 200 amp and died. The moment I pulled this switch out of its package, I knew that this switch was much better built.

Light damage due to packaging
The metal side that shows you off and on got bent, not a big deal but I'm not going to be able to get it flat again. Everything else seems fine

A solid switch that switches both battery and ignition is hard to find. Exactly what I needed.
I put this in the seat pedestal of my 2020 Sprinter to serve as a disconnect for the connection between the starter battery and the solar system in the back. By connecting the smaller posts to the ignition wire that has voltage only when the vehicle is running, I was able to send that signal to the back as well, which I use with a relay to switch between a Victron DC-DC charger (which pulls from the engine while running and safely charges the Lithium batteries according to their charge profiles) and a Magnum smart battery combiner (which sends power to from the Solar/Lithium system when the car is not running, calibrated so that it only connects when the Lithiums are nearly full). This setup ensures my electric sliding door no longer drains my starter battery. All this to say, I appreciate having a solid switch like this to completely disconnect the two systems when it's time for maintenance. Unlike most other battery switches I found, being able to recess the bulk of it in the seat pedestal and only expose the relatively low profile switch means it's not a trip hazard. The solid click when I turn it on gives confidence it won't accidentally turn off, and it feels very sturdy. Very happy with this purchase. May as well get the kit with the rubber post covers if you don't already have them, they are a useful bit of extra protection.

Big n Beefy, great customer support momentary capacity of 1000 amps.
So I installed one of these in a buddy's jeep previously, its still hanging in there after months of on / off switches. This time I bought 2 for myself to install on a 96 F350 4x4 PSD box truck. I spent a bit of time fabricating 2 mounts so I can secure the switches near the radiator frame mount down near battery trays, Ideally you want the switches as close to source as possible ( but I have put disconnect switches in cabin just requires alot of expensive heavy gage cable. The pax side requires a bit of effort as two - 2/0 cables go from big OEM positive lug to starter and relay as well as the 2/0 series cable from drivers side (2 batts on a diesel, your application may differ). Yes the switch body is not indexed, if you install the switch with out securing the large faceplate it has a tendency to turn on you, its easily rectified by drilling a small screw thru faceplate (I used a self taper and then just cut off excess). This switch is beefy but it needs to be to handle cranking current an email with Andy at legacy auto (supplier) stated constant current at 180 but momentary at over 1000 amps. Another buddy has a 2001 PSD, he paid some guy to do his using some other brand switch and was charged over 500 dollars, I dont have that kind of cash and I prefer to do things myself.

Metal safety current switch
I bought this to compliment a winch and ARB bumper install. I wanted a safety switch that would isolate the winches power leads from the battery. This way if a short was to ever happen through the winches solenoid, i would have the ability to shut the current off without removing a battery cable. This high current (amp) master battery switch was just what i was looking for. I installed it on the upper flat portion of the bumper wing. This switch is made of metal, so it will be durable in all weather situations, unlike some competitors that are made of plastic and are only suitable for under the hood installs.Update: 07/13/17There has been no degradation to the painted switch face, or the levers +/- engagement. It switches from on/off with a semi firm twist, just like when it was originally installed. This is a must product when seconds count, and you have to cut the currant fast. Winch cont-actors are one of the most susceptible parts to go south on you, and can cause cross voltage arcing and fire when they do. This switch is 'piece of mind' for that possibility. The other reason for this, is the contactor locking the winch into reverse, and not shutting OFF. This can damage your truck or bumper assembly, as the winch wont stop spooling in, even when the 'controller' is in NEUTRAL..Update: 03/26/18...Switch face plate is still fade free in hot and direct desert sun. The switch toggle lever is still tight, and the lever still has a nice "click" when moving the lever. It also has not loosened or slipped in it's mounting hole since installation. A switch like this should always be considered, when your dealing with the power of a electric winch. It is also something to consider in modern vehicles which can have a constant ECM memory drain, and vehicles that sit for long periods of time between use( click...click...click)!

Good quality product.
I learnt about Fastronix product from another review which recommended buying this make over a much cheaper brand. This switch has a real heavy duty feel to it. When you turn it on you know it is on! And when you turn it off you know its off! There is nothing wishy washy about this one! worth the extra money.

Good Switch
Nice simple heavy duty disconnect, didn't want one with a removable key and needed something high amperage. Price was a little steep but the switch seems to be good quality.
