A Kids' Guide to Hamilton the Musical

Easy to read Great accompaniment to the broadway show Gives little extra details to spark interest in further reading.

Great little book! I bought this for my daughter who is mad about the musical. It’s full of info on the characters and she loved reading through it. A great gift!

I gave this to my 8 year old daughter for Christmas as she’s a huge Hamilton fan. It’s simple enough for her to read, but we are now reading it together as a bedtime story and it has prompted some great conversations around the themes in the musical and the historical reality. I’ve really enjoyed learning more too! It’s well-written and handles the trickier themes in the show (eg Hamilton’s love affair) sensitively and age-appropriately. It explains some of the historical and social context (eg social class and legacy) accurately, whilst also making these relevant for contemporary readers. Love this book and absolutely delighted with it!

Fantastic and interesting resource for teaching Hamilton

The only negative about this book is that it says “a kids” guide. My teen who is obsessed with Hamilton but didn’t like that it says it’s for kids.

If, like me you enjoyed Hamilton the musical, those book will give you further insight into a lot of what is going on in the show. It also highlights many of the inaccuracies of the show. Sadly these may replace the truth in people’s understanding of history.
