Great Value
I do not give this product a 5 star only for the fact that it is not such an easy task to glue all the limbs and parts of the figures and the variety of poses is average compared to other sets. otherwise is a great way to start a Soviet Army at the best value possible.

Soviet Army starter: Not enough bases
I'm happy with my buy, the only disappointment are the bases it came with different smooth and lipped bases and also not enough bases but other than that I'm pretty happy with it.

Perfect for starters
Great for a starter army. There is one Officer, a Commissar, and a Medic model (the exact models pictured pg 22 in the Soviet Army Book), as well as the 82mm mortar and three-man team to go with it, all in pewter. 8 plastic sprues of 8 soldiers with many options and lots of extra bits (heads galore, a variety of bags, e-tools arm poses) and 6 plastic weapon sprues each with loads of rifles (one with scope for a sniper) and SMGs, one LMG, A-T Rifle and Panzerfaust and plenty more ammo pouches and bits for more customization. And, of course the T-34/85 rounds off the box very well.

Bolt action is a great miniatures game.
I had to give up on 40k, just couldn't keep up with the price, codices, rule changes, etc. So switched over to bolt action. It has been an outstanding substitute. The models and books are fairly priced and the ruleset is very straightforward. This Soviet starter set is a pretty good value. The only disappointment is that the loose pile of sprues are pretty vulnerable in the box, and rough handling in shipping damaged a couple of small parts.

but I have been having fun with them
Bought these about a month ago, they can be a bit fidley putting together and sometimes they don't fit properly, but I have been having fun with them.
