Q: How does this compare to the 310 model?

310 has 30 Amp clips allowing it to be used as a portable amp meter. Further, the head unit has upgraded display with analog bargraph and data hold. 310 does not have an adapter for the new micro fuses, we are currently working on that.

Q: Is the probe fused to protect the meter?

You remove the car fuse and plqce it in the tester’s receptacle. The car fuse protects any overload.

Q: Is 0.1A resolution, that would be 1.2W, fine enough to find a power leak that takes days to drain a battery?

Maximum allowable draw is usually 0.050 amps or 50 ma. So this tester would help if your battery went dead overnight possibly but not for anything that takes days. Now for the reason I like it. If you're adding accessories to a vehicle, you can use it to calculate startup loads and running loads to appropriately size wiring and fuses. For this reason I recommend it.
