Spigen Liquid Air Designed for Pixel 4a 5G Case (2020) - Matte Black

Fits my Pixel 4a 5G perfectly and securely yet not too difficult to remove should I have to. Very nice design. That goes for the textured pattern on the back that allows for good grip. It looks like it's one with the phone. The cutout for the finger reader is perfect. No issues with the edge around the screen being in the way of swipe gestures. The quality of material and construction is excellent. Provides excellent protection against drops. Combined with tempered glass screen protector you'll have solid protection. My phone landed on one of the four corners when I dropped it on concrete then fell face down. Not a scratch on the phone protector and the phone itself was unscathed. Highly recommend.

Excellent case, the fitment and cutouts are perfect. I like the enlarged cutout for the headphone jack. The buttons don't protrude out too far and they retain the tactile feel. The top of the case does cover the speaker about halfway but there is a slightly raised area over the speaker so it doesn't really block the sound but redirects it downward. I was afraid that it would be slippery but it's actually very grippy due to the material and texture.

I upgraded from my Nexus 5X using the Cruzerlite Bug Droid case in black. I liked this case a lot and the phone was great in its day. Unfortunately, 2020 is far, far from its day. The upgrade to the Pixel 4a 5G and the Spigen Liquid Air Armor is night and day for me.Specifically, the case is quite firm, it holds the phone securely, it feels like a thicker, very slightly wider extension to it. In the store pictures, there was this impression that the case is "shinier" than it actually is. If you go watch some youtube videos of Spigen Liquid Air Armor reviews, you'll see a much better representation of how not-shiny it is. I like that. Shiny often means slick and I was looking for the case that looked good that was also very grippy.This case is great in that regard. Not quite as good as I thought, I guess, because I figured the repeated triangle pattern on the back was 3D with little nubs pointing out. It's not. They're flat, but etched with grooves. That means tiny particles will get in them, but I've found a quick brush of the phone every few days seems to get rid of those. No strange or problematic odors, either, which is a concern for TPU cases I guess?There is a lip, maybe a tenth of an inch or so, around the edge of the front to raise the screen off any surface if you put the phone face-down. There is also a lip around the camera, but that lip is less. The phone lays flat, however. The cutout for the fingerprint reader is helpful in that it makes it easier to find the smooth circle compared to the rough back.The surfaces are all rounded on each thin side, but the two long sides have a subtle series of adjacent lines as etching to add more grip. The top and bottom are rounded without etching. One thing I noticed about this case is that it reduced the rumble of the Pixel 4a 5G's speaker quite a bit when holding it. It's not gone, but you don't feel it as much. The audio seems unaffected. There is even a cutout, a subtle one, at the top to allow the top (or left depending on orientation) speaker to project. This cutout could be a little bigger imo, but having listened closely, I think it's big enough. Someone was thinking.Overall, I can recommend this case. It's grippy, the cutouts are great, the matte black is not shiny in the slightest (and does not show fingerprints), the etched surface on the back is interesting and uniform (unlike many other options out there), it's TPU which means it's not as slick as cases using other materials, and it's got lips to protect the camera and the front screen.A winner imo.

6/1/22 - Update - reduced 1 star - noticed my phone starting to move around in the case after about 8 months of use. But the case is still holding up well without any signs of wear and tear.8/26/21 - This phone case gives you everything you need - fits all the cutouts and buttons perfectly, doesn't add too much bulk or weight to the phone, and the design isn't too flashy or boring. You get a decent grip on the phone, and it does fairly well on resisting fingerprints and is easy to clean with alcohol and microfiber cloth. And it did not interfere with a glass screen protector. No complaints here.

When I bought my Pixel 4a 5G used, the guy gave me three (Otterbox, Mous, something else) cases with it. They were EXPENSIVE and terrible (big, bulky, thick, heavy, no button feel, bad fingerprint access, no grips, poorly-designed openings etc). This case, on the other hand, is basically perfect. Wide openings for the ports and speakers, very slim profile (slides in pickets very nicely), nice grips on the sides, and the tactile feel for buttons is still there (!!!), and raised edges are still above the glass screen protector on the screen and the camera bump on the back. My only initial gripe (and this is with any TPU case) is that TPU cases start out feeling very slick to me and not grippy at all. As you use the case over a couple weeks, I feel like they tend to get grippier, or maybe you just get used to it, hard to tell. In any case, highly recommend this case to anyone, design on the back is a nice touch.

Fits perfectly and feels nice in hands. The cutout for the fingerprint is perfect. Almost like my finger gravitates towards the reader without effort.I've had this case for a few months now. It hasn't trapped any dust in the borders or the camera and finger cutouts, so that alone tells me how high-quality and snug the fit is. Very impressed with this case. My phone's also survived a good amount of falls where I was scared to check my screen after picking it up.

I've been very pleased with Spigen cases in the past for a variety of phones. Seems like they have the quality materials, and excellent quality control of the manufacturing processes. The grip is just right. The holes for speakers, fingerprint scanner, charging port and headphone jack are perfectly placed. Definitely not the cheapest case, but if you buy this one, it's probably the only one you'll buy.

Clean simple case that has good button pressure (doesn't make it more difficult to push) camera bump is below so it sits flush on the table. Everything that needs protection (screen and camera) have a good ridge to prevent direct contact when dropped unless there is a rock or something else that will protrude up from the surface. Best thing it is slim and doesn't make the phone bulkier.

This case gives the device just enough "lips" around the screen and the raised back camera glass to put on flat surface without scratchable surface touching. I've owned Spigen products for previous devices in the past and have always been satisfied with the build quality of the products. Fits snug, feels very sturdy and pattern on the back gives it a good grip. The cut outs for the fingerprint reader and camera are accurate and looks very nice. It's much easier to locate the fingerprint reader with the case than without the case. I'm glad I didn't opt to buy the official Google case for almost 3 times the price.

this case is expensive but it is worth it. The case feels premium and is premium, it has a matte finish on the back and has side grip grooves for better grip. It is rigid and protects the front screen as well as. This case is not available for sale on indian subcontinent, it is only sold in European countries, US, Canada( says on the box). So the quality is also according to their standards which is really good. This is the most premium case I've ever used after Apple silicon case.
