Useful Tools
Yeah, this is a cut and paste across the the set that I purchase. Lots of useful information. Lots of useful things to practice. And like all things you want to get better at. You need to actually practice. These will help.

Great intro
This is a very gentle introduction to guitar. Starting with basic orientation, it adds layers of complexity at a rate slow enough for a beginner. Lots of coaching and motivational text as lessons progress.

Great book
I’m a beginner guitar player and this book has been so helpful in improving the dexterity in my left hand. I love that it has tab as well as regular musical notation.

Could be better
It's a good start, but the chord charts don't follow the lessons. They only show the new chords and expect you to remember the chords from 10 pages earlier. Mind you, this 10 pages spans about 3 days. Please show all the chord fingerings used in a lesson.

Outstanding Beginner Guitar instruction book
I recently picked up this book on the Amazon website. What I like about this book is that it's geared for the average Joe, non musician person. The exercises have audio tab that can be downloaded from the Guitar Head website. It's unusual for me to find a guitar instructional book that is not a major challenge to finish. What makes this book so great and worthwhile as a purchase is that you don't need a tremendous amount of time and effort studying in order to finish the 100 exercises listed in the book.I started playing music as a teenager on a 10 hole Hohner marine band harmonica. I would play simple tunes but I would put a lot of heart and sole into the simple songs I played. As long as you really enjoy the music you play and learn on your guitar......then that is the main objective you should seek as you play your instrument. There are some major scale forms mentioned in this book but I found it unusual they did not expand at all beyond these few basic major scale forms shown in this book. Guitar Head offers another different titled book for increasing your knowledge on different scales used for the guitar. If you don't have any musical talent like myself this is probably a great book to buy. If you have knowledge and talent playing the guitar you would probably be better off buying something else. You don't need to have the skills of Yngwie Malmsteen in order to be a proficient, competent guitarist. If more advanced, time consuming, studies of guitar instruction are not your cup of tea, that's fine, stick with what you like to play.
