Perfect for Starting My Podcast!
I recently purchased the Disino USB Microphone Cable (XLR Female to USB) to kickstart my podcast, and it has exceeded my expectations! The 10-foot length is perfect, providing plenty of flexibility in my setup without feeling restricted. The sound quality is fantastic—crystal clear and professional—which is exactly what I needed. Setup was a breeze; I simply plugged it into my USB port, and it worked instantly without any extra software. This cable is also durable and well-made, so I know it will last for a long time. Whether you're recording a podcast or singing karaoke, this cable is a must-have!

Easy to use for video meeting set up
I decided to get this for my home office setup. After having people tell me that the audio from my webcam mic was not great, I decided to use a real vocal microphone on a boom arm. However, my company decided to disallow my Focusrite audio interface USB drivers so I picked this up. It appears as a standard "USB Audio" device and was not disallowed by my company security policy. Just plug it in, plug in your XLR cable, and point your software's audio settings to it and you're good to go. The USB connector's housing is a bit wide so I couldn't use it on one USB port because it was too close to the HDMI connector - I had to move some things around to get a USB port with another clearance. Audio-wise, it's good enough for video conferences. I'm not sure I would recommend it for serious audio work, but it's just a standard audio interface, not ASIO anyway, so I don't think any pro audio person would even want to use this for that purpose. Strangely, the "USB Audio" also has an output even though there is no output at all on this device. That must just be an artifact of the chipset they are using for this. Just be careful that when you connect this for audio input that your computer does not also set the audio output to this device automatically - you might have to go in and fix the playback audio device after plugging this in. PROS: * Easy set up * Adequate quality for video conference * Standard audio interface - no drivers needed * Less expensive than a full blown audio interface (Focusrite, etc) CONS: * USB connector is a bit wide * Also has a "phantom" speaker output driver but no output connection * Will only work with dynamic type mics, does not have 48v phantom power I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a simple way to connect a better quality microphone for video conferencing or online meetings. It's cheap and simple.

Finally found a cable that works for XLR to Windows laptop
Despite reading on Amazon that this cable is frequently returned, my experience with it has been positive - and it's the only cable I've been able to get to work. After several failed attempts with three other cables, this was the only one that allowed the laptop to succesfully recognize the microphone. Also, it just worked; there wasn't any need for manual setups or additional driver installations. The cable's worked with my Windows laptop and the sound quality for the microphone and headphones has been great, even if some folks have said I'm a little quiet. I use this for Teams meetings and it works great. While I still have to use the TRRS port for my headphones, the audio quality remains great. Despite Amazon reporting a frequency of returns, my experience underscores that this cable can be the perfect solution for those in need of a reliable XLR mic to laptop connection.

Don’t buy it
I recently bought a USB to XLR microphone cable, and I have to say, it was a total disappointment. First off, the sound quality was terrible. It barely captured any decent audio from my XLR mic, leaving everything sounding muffled and distorted. I thought it might be a one-off issue, but after testing it with multiple mics and devices, the results were consistently bad. The cable itself felt cheap and flimsy, like it might fall apart if I even looked at it wrong. I expected a bit more durability for something connecting a high-quality microphone to my setup. To make matters worse, there was a noticeable delay between speaking and the sound registering—definitely not something you want if you’re trying to record anything serious. This product seems like a quick-fix solution for people hoping to connect professional microphones to their computers, but it does a poor job of delivering on that promise. You’re better off investing in an actual audio interface instead of wasting money on this cable. Avoid it if you care about sound quality or want something that lasts more than a week.

Works Great
Works great if you know how to turn up the gain on whatever device you are using. It’s a great affordable option so you don’t have to buy a audio interface.

A nice concept anyway...
I got this, hoping I could use my AT813 condenser mic with my computer, and it works -- kind of. The volume level is basically unusable for most situations. Maybe it works better with dynamic mics, but I don't have a good one right now. Sure, I could run it through a mixer and then into the computer, but I wouldn't need this cable then. So like I said, it's a nice concept, but it does me absolutely no good at all right now. (and before you ask, my mic isn't phantom powered, and I was using good batteries)...
