Utility Knife Kit

Considering how cheap the knife is, and how easy it is to replace blades, it was a good investment. I don't use it that often, but it's worked great. It's best for opening cardboard boxes when you buy stuff on Amazon, and I used it to cut cardboard to make claws for Halloween - worked great for that. I even used it to cut bits off the inside of a cassette tape to stick a thumb drive inside! A bit later, I melted down huge hunks of wax, and used it to carve stuff out of the wax. I made a cute cat, though its face didn't turn out well. When working with the huge hunk of wax, the blade of the knife bent sideways quite a bit! It never broke though. I was a little worried it would break. Once I got used to carving with it, it wasn't a problem. While working on wax, I wasn't careful and accidentally cut myself, so I can confirm, the blades are sharp. Also, I had a problem with bits of squishy wax getting stuck in the grip pattern and in the area where the blade goes. It won't be a problem unless you're carving wax though XD. Overall, I'd say it's a very good product if you work on crafts every now and then. The blades are easy to replace, I don't need to replace them often, and the handle is well designed.

This is a perfect little knife for craft projects or other odd jobs around the house or office. The extra 33 blades this kit comes with makes it a no brainer that you must add this to your cart right now. It’s inexpensive and works great! Two thumbs up from me!

My original knife on the right had seen better days so I bought this to replace it. I realize that X-Acto knife is an eponym, which is a proprietary brand that's often used to generically describe something (think Kleenex for tissues, or Xerox for copies). I may be wrong but I don't believe this Mr. Pen product is not a true X-Axcto (or Exacto knife) in that sense. It is much smaller, more lightweight, as shown in the pics, and doesn't have the Exacto branding on it like my original one does. It's also difficult to keep the blade from moving around and they become loose no matter how often I tighten them if you're cutting something for some time. This can be both annoying and dangerous. But, having said that, I do think it's a really good substitute for the cost and I would purchase this in the future. PROS Having 30 extra blades is great Protective cap is nice Blades are super sharp Small knife profile allows for cutting tight spaces Textured handle allows for a good grip Feels like it's made of a solid, quality material CONS Does not have an Exacto marking Blades do not fit the original Exacto knives (they're much smaller) Blades become loose and spin after a while Smaller profile may not provide a good grip for those with larger hands

Very sharp! Blade hold feels secure and comfortable, got good variety on blades and works great for fitting violin bridges.

No soy experto en trabajos en madera, tengo un juego de gubias pequeñas con los cuales hago detalles cuando los necesito. Al ver este producto imagine que podria servirme de mucho ya que en su descripcion dice que es apta para materiales de dureza media a alta (incluyendo madera). Personalmente no los recomendaria para materiales duros (menos aun madera) quizas para dureza de media a baja. Son cuchillas muy delgadas, flexibles y, si bien tienen un buen filo, si haces algo de presion ya se doblan y si les agregas esfuerzo puedes tener un accidente (ya me corte y se me partieron 2 los primeros dias y no las volvi a usar para nada exigente). Ademas se oxidan facilmente aunque no las uses. Mi conclusion es que, por su precio, son excelentes para manualidades sencillas gracias a su filo y hojas delgadas (quizas tambien para manos expertas, no lo se) pero para trabajos con madera media a dura sigo usando mis viejas gubias.

One of the most useful knives I have in my toolbox. Economical and better all around compared with other small knives I’ve purchased as being specific for leather. Blades sharp and easily sharpened following use. I did purchase a large number of blades specific since I wasn’t sure. Tighten, remain in place and perfect for a multitude of uses.
