solar fountain pump 3.5W

I’m really happy with this. It just arrived along with my new bird bath so I put it in the bird bath and filled it up and despite the fact the sun has disappeared and I’m left with a grey sky, it’s working. Not a constant stream but it’s flowing about 4 inches high every second. What a bargain! I was only expecting it to work in full sun so I’m really pleased. It’s easy to assemble, the instructions tell you which bits to use with the different nozzles to get different effects and it also tells you how to clean it so it will keep working well. Plus you have that lovely and relaxing sound of the trickling water. I’m looking forward to seeing it in full sun because the stream will be constant and it will probably reach higher too. My little birds have come over to have a look at it but not ventured in as yet. Will probably take them a few days to trust it. I highly recommend this. Edit:- I just wanted to add to my five star review that I’m even more impressed with this since winter. I had planned to remove it so it wouldn’t freeze and break but I completely forgot. It’s now been frozen countless times and when it thaws out it begins working again. Considering the bargain price I’m amazed it even lasted the summer never mind a winter. All the birds love it. The magpies have unfortunately stolen all the little straw stabilisers so now it floats freely in the bird bath until I find more straws to fit. If you want a cheap and cheerful fountain then buy this, you won’t be disappointed. FYI in full sun the spray goes really high and wide and if there’s even a little bit of a breeze you may find you’re filling up your bird bath constantly so you might want to invest in a very wide bird bath or don’t leave it in full sun.

I love my Aistin solar powered fountain, my whole family does and so do the robins . First thing in the morning I look out onto my small garden and the tiny glimmering water droplets make me want to smile. Pros :1- It arrived promptly. 2- Assembly was easy. 3- It is compact and works with little sunlight. 4- Comes with different nozzles but I have just found my favourite and stuck with it so far. 5- Beautiful effect on my small garden, magical. Cons : 1- We found it tricky to choose a basin for it. The first one we chose was too small so the water kept splattering out and we had to keep refilling it. Once we got the right sized bird bath, it was bingo. 2- If your water basin is not clean it can get blocked and start and stop randomly. Make sure your fountain is placed in clear enough water free of dust and leaves. 3- While the height of the water column is just right for me, the sound of the trickling water is not that clear if the place is not very quiet. I guess that depends on where and how you place it in addition to the pump's power. Conclusion: I have had it for just over a week but I absolutely love it, what a brilliant product!! I would recommend it and I am thinking of buying more as presents for family and friends. I am giving 4 rather than 5 stars because of the block issue but the stopping and starting has actually caused a couple of funny moments when one of us goes to check and it fountains into their faces :-)

Ordered this solar fountain as someone else I know had got one. Package arrived quickly and all parts were well packaged. Easy to set up, with simple instructions and a selection of nozzles so you can select which kind of fountain you want by interchanging them. There are extendable arms that stop the fountain from floating about in your chosen tub, so you can select whatever size tub you want. I simply used a pot from the garden centre and put some stones in the bottom. The pump work even in low light, but produces a ‘squirt’ rather than a regular stream. In bright sunlight however it goes constantly. The pump is quiet. Like others have said though, the only downside is that on a windy day, or if you don’t have a pot wide enough, the fountain squirts water all over so you have to keep it topped up or it will just stop when it runs out of water. A really good quality piece of kit for the price however and well worth a go in your garden if you can’t afford a bit expensive fountain as you can choose the pot and move it around the garden where you like.

This worked for about a day or two then spluttered to a halt never to spurt again. It was in full sun so that wasn't the problem. It's just rubbish and I'm pretty fed up that I paid for something that doesn't work and because it was brought to me in Cape Town by a friend I couldn't send it back in time. Waste of money.

Fun little gadget works great in direct sunlight but stops the minute it goes into the shade. Needs a biggish container to work in, say 1 meter diameter, otherwise the fountain squirts the water over the side and eventually all the water will be expelled leading to pump burnout as I don't think it has an automatic cutoff. Surprisingly the warning label says not to immerse in water or use in a wet environment to prevent electric shock!

5 stars for now (its only been running for 30 minutes). It's easy to assemble, quiet in operation, and is doing exactly what it says on the tin / box. It fits in our bird bath nicely but I will trim the support legs a bit so they are more hidden. The spray head is as powerful as you should expect (only 3.5v) and with the 10 hole head, it jets about 12 inches / 30 cm - Just right for its location. Only got this yesterday, so todays the first day of use, didn’t start working properly till it was in full sun, if there’s a shadow over it, it stops But so far so good it works well in my little wildlife pond, the main reason I got it was because the water had gone stagnant and mosquitos had laid their larvae in it so hopefully this will help. I am pleased with it but as I say it’s early days Right so only problem, we’ve had it 2days now and as I said mosquito larvae were the main reason I got this to stop the water going stagnant but mosquito and rat tailed larvae are clogging up the pump, so we have to keep washing it out It’s a shame cause when it’s working it’s lovely Shame there’s not a net/ mesh to stop insects getting caught in it.

Good size. Needs direct sunlight to keep it charged up, not overly big water feature but ok for bird bath etc. easy to drop into water and use straight away. There are lots of bits to choose what effect you like. Good value.
