Honest-to-God USB-powered Evaporative Cooler
PROS-------- It's an actual evaporative cooler, not a humidifier.- Good sized water reservoir lasts a few hours.- Uses a standard micro-USB plug, not a proprietary charger.- Provides effective personal cooling in the right environmentCONS-------- Comes with a USB cable, but not an AC adapter.- Fan isn't too loud, but isn't particularly quiet.- Directional fins don't alter the direction of the air much.- Pump shuts off before the reservoir is fully empty, leaving a few ounces of water. After moving to Las Vegas last year, I was looking for ways to cool myself without having to turn down the A/C too much. I tried a different style of cooler that blew water vapor in front of a fan, and it worked okay but was never terribly impressive, and I remained on the lookout for another option. Fast forward to another summer and I found this unit, and even with no reviews it seemed like it was at least worth a shot. I was skeptical that it would actually perform adequately,Taking it out of the box, I was genuinely impressed by the build quality of the unit. It feels well put together and nothing rattles or feels particularly cheap. A micro-USB cable is included, however, it does not ship with an AC adapter, so you'll need to provide one yourself, and the 5V/2A spec is higher than many phone chargers that most people have lying around, so some users may need to factor an additional charger into the cost of the unit.Filling it with water is relatively straightforward, however the reservoir doesn't pull fully out of the unit because the pump is mounted inside of it. As a result, you may not be able to fill it with some larger pitchers--standard water bottles work just fine though. When turned on, the fan is neither too loud nor particularly quiet. It may bother some people looking for total silence, but it hasn't been an issue for me yet. Pushing the "Cool" button on the top of the unit enables the pump and starts water flowing over the filter material in the rear. The filter material seems to be pretty standard for evaporative coolers, and should only have to be cleaned out occasionally if it becomes too dirty. The actual cooling effect is better than other styles of personal cooler that I've tried. In a dry environment, the blown air is noticeably sub-ambient. Climates with a higher relative humidity won't experience the same effect, but here in the desert it's a good option.I was on the fence about this unit as a whole, considering there was very little information available and being USB-powered seems weird. Honestly, though, I've been impressed. It's sitting beside my bed now and I've been using it nightly--and I fully intend to continue to do so for a long time to come.

Don't waste your money.
Low output, no cooling whatsoever, do not waste your time or money.

Nice cooler for the price!
For 24 bucks, this is a nice cooler, it is fairly quiet, there is some fan noise but what do you expect? We have it on a nightstand at bedside and it adds a nice bit of white noise while we're sleep, so thats nice. The water tank is large and lasts a decent amount of time, fill it before bed and it will last all night, though having to slide out the tank from the back to refill it is a hassle, I wish it would have an opening to fill from the front.Cooling power is not instantly dramatic, but over time very noticeable. We have no air conditioning in our home, and it has been consistently over 90 degrees most of this summer where we live, but this and one other similar personal swamp cooler, combined with blackout curtains make a dramatic difference in the master bedroom, bringing daytime temps from the mid 80s to about 70ish.We run this cooler 24/7 and it functions flawlessly.Owned for 3 weeks so far, plan to buy one or two more.

Doesn’t work as well as I expected
I had high hopes for this little cooler, as I live in a fairly dry place which makes evaporative coolers very effective. However, upon arrival I was a little let down. The cooler was easy to fill and operate, and this is one of the only coolers I could find of this size that used an actual pump instead of capillary action, but the fan is not the right choice for the job. It’s quite loud and does a very poor job of directing the airflow out of the cooler. The fins on the front do little to nothing. In order to make this cooler work as well as it should, you have to be sitting 2 feet or less away from the cooler, which makes the noise even worse. Looking in from the outside, it may be possible to modify the cooler and put a better fan in, as the fan looks to be a fairly standard 120mm computer fan of which there is a wide variety of replacements. I won’t be doing that myself, as it’s possible I might return this thing for a refund.

Blows Cold!
My room gets hot in the summer even with air conditioning, because I keep my curtains open for my plants. I have 2 of these in my room. I can even run it on my pocket phone charger on the go! The fan isn’t the quietest, but it’s still tolerable. I turn mine off when I sleep. Works best if the air blows directly on you.

Not really worth the money.
It's a good small space cooler, but it doesnt blow much air even on the high setting. It is easy to use and doesn't take up too much space so that's good. Definitely dont think it's worth the money I spent on it unfortunately.

Terrific Mini Air Cooler -- I'm ordering 3 more !
This evaporative air cooler arrived ahead of schedule. Excellent quality for the price. It comes with a 1 year limited warranty. The User's Manual is well written making this cooler easy to use. The lights on the controls are beautiful and it is very quiet. It is just the right size to sit on my desk while I'm writing this review and so portable that I can take to the coffee table while I watch TV tonight. It can be used as an evaporative air cooler or just a fan. It comes with a pretty short USB cable so you can plug it in to a USB port. It doesn't come with batteries or an AC adapter which helped keep the price so low. I like it so much I just ordered 3 more.
