DZ43206 Tailgate Assist Fits a 19-Current Ford Ranger

It's nice to find a product that does what it says with a minimum of fuss. This took about 10 minutes to install, including me searching for my torx socket set. Tailgate closes as normal and opens without slamming.

It works well, installation straightforward as long as you have the right tools and well worth the modest price. No more gate slamming down!

I just installed this tailgate assist and it was a breeze to install! I'm not really sure where and why it got its name Dee Zee, but it is a good product. It has good solid materials. The instructions and video are great and easy to follow (not that it's hard to install). This was specific for a 2021 Ford Ranger.

It works well. The girlfriend loves it.

Bought this for my husband’s truck. Was exactly what he was looking for. Fit his truck perfectly and was very easy to install

I initially gave 5 Stars as it was packaged safely, well explained and relatively easy to install. The assist did what it promised, opens the tailgate slowly. I got this one on a deal for $18 and felt it was/is worth the price. It did not once fail. It is installed in a 2019 Ranger and fits well. There isn’t much to say to weight or look - it’s not heavy nor is it pretty visible so that isn‘t important in my opinion. It is very helpful for older Folks and Children, everyone can safely open the tailgate now. Why i took a Star off for durability: I noticed after 3 month that the Assist has gotten noisy, it is loud enough to get people’s attention in the parking lot. Since it has recently gotten cold i will see if i can grease it and if that resolves the issue i will update. However for now almost $30 i want people to be aware to before making the decision.

I bought the Dee Zee because it's the one that I've seen Ford put on the Ranger if you order this feature from the factory. So you could almost call it the OEM part... I bought a "used like new" and true to Amazon's word it was complete and in perfect shape, someone had sliced open the plastic and decided to not install it for some reason. Unlike some of the reviews of competitive items I didn't have any trouble with the piston conflicting with the cable. Mine works perfectly and starts the controlled drop almost from the point at which the gate opens. Highly recommended. Further comments: my truck is a 2022. You need a pretty stout Torx 50 bit, also an M-6 hex wrench. Those weren't included. That's about it...literally took 10 minutes. (edited to correct model year)

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Definitely a well made product. It was very easy to install even though the instructions had a couple of typos, but the pictures were very clear and helpful. Ease of use: Super easy with about 4 tools.

This was my fault as the brochure says 2019 and newer. My build is 11/18, so I thought it was PX3 and that the 2019 accessory would fit - WRONG. Let's see how easy (or otherwise) it is to return and get the correct one.

This product does not fit my 2020 Ford Ranger and has caused bolt alignment issues when removing existing tailgate fixing bolts. Clearly the DEEZEE quality team have messed this up ! I am seeking a refund and compensation for additional work This should have a minus rating

Does not fit 2025 ford ranger raptor. However the product quality and packaging is exceptional.
