This external hard drive is the best one out there. It's sturdy and has tons of space. I've got pictures, entire books uploaded, magazine issues, and more and there's not even a dent in the storage space. A great buy.

First I love the compact size and then the price for 2T is very good. It wasn't hard to set up with my MacBookPro. Once I went through the downloaded installer and was able to go to the Time Machine in my system preferences and check this as my preferred backup device. The first backup is a little over one hour but I have a lot to download so the time to do this is fine with me. I also liked the fact that it came with a USB-C adaptor so I didn't have to go to an Apple dongle. I have used G Drives in the past but the prices are extremely high now if all you are doing is backing up to your personal computer. I am not a tech savvy person but I didn't need any tech support to get this running.

I'm using this for more than a year. It's fast, reliable, and this specific texture looks classy to me!

I have a Mac. I got it in 2011. She's plugging away working along just fine. I've never had a problem with it. But it's 9 years old. I had a Dell and then a Sony PC, and those lasted about five years. Maybe I could have dragged out a few more years. But 9 years. That's a long time. I have so many pictures and videos of my loved ones. If I lost them, then I'd feel bad.So I did some research looking in to ways to back up everything. Somehow I settled on this. I had hooked it up to my Mac, and it prompted Time Machine to launch. It guided me to set up the device. Now it just automatically backs up periodically.As it's connected, an icon appears on my computer screen "Backup Plus". I can click on it and view the files. Each backup is dated. Each backup has all my files, my tax data, my checkbook, my financial data, the file with all my passwords, all my pictures, all my videos and all my music. It's there. I can check it. I can click on it. So I know it's backing up periodically, and if something happens to my old computer, then I'll still have all the data. And it wasn't even that expensive.

I have a 2017 MacBook Pro with only a 256gb SSD. I've been able to manage thus far, until my job has transitioned into more media and editing. Using primarily Photoshop & Adobe Illustrator has made this external hard drive a necessity. I formatted it to Mac OS Extended (journaled) using DIsk Utility and have it set up as my scratch disk for my Adobe Cloud and it has been perfect for my needs. Easy and fast and it's quiet too. Small footprint makes it easy to throw in my bag and bring it with me. I'm very pleased! *One important thing to note that can be seen in the stock photos, but not gleaned from the title: the unit itself is NOT usb c...but rather they include a usb 2 to usb 3 adapter. At 2TB...I should be good to go for a very long time!

It is easy to use! I just plugged it into my computer, downloaded and installed the software, and then backed up the entire computer. It took less than a half an hour! I back my computer up once a month, and it only takes 15 minutes to do that! You also can set it for continuous backup as you go along if you want to do that!

I had read a review about WD external drives being good with Macs, but it wasn't compatible with Big Sur, and I got no help from WD. So I found the Seagate Ultra Touch when I read a report about the best external hard drives for Mac that worked with Big Sur, and it worked perfectly from the get-go. I was SO relieved, because all the time I wasted ordering, waiting for, then trying to troubleshoot the WD drive put me VERY behind on an important photo editing project for work. I would definitely recommend this one. (In fact, I bought 2 of them.)

this thing failed in under 3 months under normal use. seagate's warranty exchange website is broken and doesn't function correctly. i spent OVER a week dealing with seagate's horrendous, 3rd-world-outsourced, CHAT ONLY (THERE IS NO PHONE SUPPORT!!!) customer support, only to be charged 6 TIMES for an exchange order that kept disappearing and never showed up, and then took way longer than necessary to finally get to some supervisor's supervisor who could FINALLY refund the charges after a week+ - and this was supposed to be a 2 business day exchange. this has been the worst customer service experience of my life. eventually i just contacted amazon and told them what a mess this was and thankfully amazon just refunded my purchase and seagate can forever go pound sand at this point so far as i am concerned. i will NEVER buy a seagate product again after how awful this experience was. days wasted with customer support that knew nothing and got me nowhere and kept charging my card anyway. it felt like i was dealing with a venezuelan scam ring. buyer beware - if you have something that goes wrong, seagate's alleged 5-year-warranty is as good as useless. they'll run you around their tech support for days on end and never send you a replacement. i will NEVER purchase another seagate product again after this.
