Excellent product, served my purposes well.
Ah, the Power Pro 47877 Lag Screws, what a marvel of modern engineering! These little beauties are like the Superman of the screwing world: able to fly through the air with the greatest of ease and bring two pieces of wood together with the force of a thousand hammers. Let me tell you, my friends, these screws are not to be trifled with. They are the Mjölnir of the carpentry world, capable of smiting down any piece of lumber in their path. With the strength of ten men and the precision of a surgeon, these screws are like a symphony supporting power tools in action. I used them to connect two pieces of wood together and was left absolutely tongue-tied by their impressive performance. It was like watching a synchronized swimming team of screws, flawlessly moving in unison to create a beautiful connection that left me breathless. And the best part is that these screws aren't just a one-trick pony. Oh no, my friends...they can be used in a variety of different ways to achieve the perfect fit. Whether you want a tight joint or a looser connection, the Power Pro 47877 Lag Screws can make it happen with ease. So if you're looking for a screw that will leave you speechless, look no further than the Power Pro 47877 Lag Screws. They're the Chuck Norris of carpentry: able to handle any job with ease and leave you in awe of their incredible power.

Screws That Keep the Roof Over Your Head
I used the Power Pro 47877 Lag Screws to screw down plywood for a roof, and guess what? They worked! The roof didn’t fly off, which, in my book, is a major win. The star drive made installation easy, and they bit into the wood like a champ. Will they rust? Honestly, I don’t think so—they look and feel like they’re built to last. But hey, even if they do, the roof’s still up there, so mission accomplished. If you need reliable screws that won’t let you (or your roof) down, these are the way to go.

The Best Lag Screw For Deck Fabrication And Rebuilding
I have used the Hillman fasteners on my deck rebuild project for the understructure and for fabricating new support in places as well as on 4x4 posts to fasten to the deck sides and other parts of this project. They do not strip. I drill pilot holes first. They also do not break. Do NOT use one of the cordless impact wrenches on these. We had a carpenter who used one of those impact wrenches to install regular old furniture fabrication screws and many broke off in the finished wood, causing me to have to drill them out and patch the wood surface to fix it. Just use a cordless driver on them, and pre-drill pilot holes, and you will have no issues with them. Excellent quality fasteners.

Start in wood easily, sometimes the bit doesn't seat fully
They thread into wood quickly. When the bit insert area is actually machined/painted right, the bit holds tight and I can one-hand screwing these in. About 2 out of the 25 had an issue where the bit would not seat fully so I had to hold the screw to start it... no big deal in most situations except I was up on a ladder on top of a sloped roof which I needed to climb a ladder to get to in the first place, so... I needed my other hand to hold me steady. Thankfully I only needed 20.

Edit: 2023 and purchased 8 times so far. NEVER failed me once.
EDIT: reading a review where the head broke off... I have pushed these boys to the limit with my 900ft lb torque 1/2 drive drill that can take lug nuts off of a semi truck. and these screws can handle it. I use these screws to make anything and everything when i want overkill strength. the threads of one single screw can hold my pullup rope and has never budged. And ive used it for sistering ramps for a full size truck, and a 35' tower on structural shear strength necessary locations. Original: If you're looking for a screw that really has some grab on its threads for a short distance. This is my favorite screw to connect two two by boards. The only screw that's better for fastening two different to buy boards is the Head lok screws because the threads only go up the screw about an inch and a half and only grabbed one board. But those screws are not available in 5/16! I've driven these Hillman Group heads through treated pine over a half inch deep! And this is probably the best deal you can find even in the big box stores.

Great Structural Screws.
Used on my 35 year old deck balusters which were nailed in and loose. Worked perfectly.
