cat hated them and chewed them off
couldn't even get all of the claw caps on my kitty, and she managed to chew off all the ones we had on her. can't really speak to them protecting furniture or anything because she had them on like half of her claws for about an hour before they were all off. i also think the glue maybe hurt her, it woke her right up and she seemed really unhappy about it, before i even had the claw cap entirely on her

Thank You Soft Claws!
I got these for my Maine Coon. Princess Leia had a hot spot on her neck that she kept scratching open and I'd taken her to the vet numerous times for laser treatments and bandages, (and a change of diet and two cortizone shots) but every time she could get access to the spot, she'd scratch it open again.A friend had mentioned this product and I suggested it to the vet. The vet was skeptical and said she didn't carry them, so I ordered them here and took Leia back to the vet so that the vet could put them on.After 4 months of taking my cat to the vet for the hot spot, the Soft Claws did the trick. Since they're not hard and sharp, she's unable to scratch her neck open while wearing them. 3-weeks after they had been applied, she scratched her neck open again because she'd lost three of them (the vet said that three weeks was probably about how long a set would last before she'd naturally shed some of them.) The injury was much less severe this time and I took her back to the vet to have the Soft Claws reapplied where she'd lost them. We didn't even bother bandaging the injury this time and 2 days later it's healed again. I am very relieved that Leia got some relief from the itch.Putting them on is really a 2-person job unless you have a really compliant cat. With my Maine Coon, she's pretty squirmy and she has a lot of long hair between her toes, so I can't imagine putting them on by myself.Leia's 13 lbs with large paws and the vet said the large was the right size for her.

big hassle
major hassle to get them on with superglue all over your fingers and sticking to his fur-then cat spends all his time trying to bite them off, which he successfully does in a few days. GET THE DOUBLE-SIDED CAT SCRATCHER TAPE INSTEAD!! IT TOTALLY WORKS!!!

Good solution
I know my boys don't care for them, but it is nice to not have to worry about my leather couch being destroyed. Application is pretty easy, and once you get the hang of that the nails will last for weeks. The cats aren't happy about the application but they get over it after a few treats. Once the nails have grown out a bit I usually remove them, give the cats a day or two of toenail freedom, then apply new ones. One of my cats needs both large and medium caps for his nails, so if size is an issue it may be helpful to have 2 different sizes.I am mildly concerned about the damage these may do to the nails, which is why I let my cats have a break once in a while.

Long lasting.
I don't put these on myself, I have it done at the vet, so don't know much about ease of use. I can say that when I have used the soft paws that the vet has, they started coming off right away. These I ordered from Amazon and took them to the vet to be put on, and it has been 8 weeks and all but one of these are still on. Don't really know about comfort either since my car can't talk.

Better burrito your kitty!
Applying these on my adult cats is a two-person task: one of us will wrap a cat up in a towel like a burrito while the other person applies the caps. These last for a long time, though, as long as the cat does not find a way to bite them off after a few weeks.

Thank you Soft Claws!
My furniture thanks you Soft Claws! ;) We have two cats, and even though we have multiple scratching posts, one of our cats STILL thinks the back of our leather couch is a more appealing place to scratch. Now with Soft Claws on, she's happy, we're happy, and our leather couch is no longer suffering the scars of her scratching sessions. These stay on for several weeks before we have to replace them. Our cat doesn't mind the process at all. Super easy, and a great alternative to harsher methods of dealing with this issue.

Best option against declawing.
I would never declaw my indoor cats but the scratching of my new couch was saddening. Best option of my older cat who not only scratches my couch but has allergies that causes him to cut himself. This helps both!
